Re: Cleaning up noise, static
That's a phoner, isn't it? The guest is on a phone. You unbalanced your phone line. You can't do that. I have several cheap devices that claim to be able to let me connect my recorder to a phone line and they're all terrible. I got some help with Effect > Noise Reduction (attached). I drag-selected ...

Re: new computer: Audacity adds a high-pitch noise to playb

If your machine doesn't follow the slider in real time (mine does), stop and start several times at different volume settings. Are they equally noisy just at ...

Re: quick Instructions manual
Audacity doesn't burn anything, so you would be using Audacity to capture the sound from your cassettes and exporting the sound as WAV (Microsoft) sound files (not MP3) . Dump the WAV files into Windows Media and use that to burn the CDs. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_copying_tapes_l...

Re: Error while opening sound device??
I was recording and playing back until I got this error. Everything was working perfectly and then suddenly? Did your USB sound device become unplugged? Audacity will not know what to do if that happens. Give us the whole list. Which computer, which OS-X, which Audacity (all three numbers), and how...

Re: ACX-Check Plugin
You don't need that step in Audacity 2.1.0, right?Once you have it in there, you will need to use the "Add / Remove" feature to enable it

Re: ACX-Check Plugin
I download to my desktop instead of the "Downloads" folder, so sometimes I get .txt instead of what was supposed to be there. Change the name.

Re: What to Do with Data Files??
It will load an individual file; not the folder. Right. The AUP file with the same name is the supervisory set of instructions for what to do with all those little pieces. Without the AUP file it may be impossible to put the show together. Anything useful in that link? It is possible to put a show ...
