Re: Noise reduction changing timing on audio
If you have a stable error, you might try Effect > Change Speed before you push the new sound into the show. Keep messing with it until you get one new track to sync down the whole show. That one speed correction may then work on all the new segments. If it doesn't, or it works at the two ends but n...

Re: Recording levels
MP3 is an end-user sound format. Make an MP3 for your Personal Music Player and Full Stop. There is no 'open up an MP3 and do something else with it'. The quality can seriously turn to trash when you do that. WAV (Microsoft) is a good format for production and archive. My pro paid recordings were al...

Re: Noise reduction changing timing on audio
I got fuzzy ideas. Video generally runs at 48000 sample rate not 44100. You might try recording a piece at that rate, or converting to that rate when you get a finished clip and see if that helps (change the number lower left). A clip playing too fast usually means it was recorded too slow. If the r...

Re: Help producing song
Audacity claims the WAV download is damaged. Dropbox only plays the first 7 seconds and then stops dead. So something happened when you produced the sound file. it keeps sounding too 'hollow'. Just from the sticks at the beginning, I think you're recording in a very echoey room. Bare walls and floor...

Re: Recorded 13 hours but will only load 20 minutes?
Audacity 2.0.5 Audacity 2.0.5 had a hard 13 hour (approximately) time limit. That's as much data as it would address before it folded over and started the count all over from 0. You're listening to the "over." That's been fixed in later Audacity versions. You may note that WAV also has li...

Re: Recording levels
I got your existing clip to pass by applying several different tools, but gently. I can't tell what really happened because of the MP3.

Re: Recording levels
Is mp3 the correct format to just share it on here? No. It's not. We're not just sharing. We're going to inspect your work for correct, technical accuracy and MP3 adds compression sound distortion. So WAV (Microsoft) it is. If you closed Audacity without Saving an Audacity Project or Exporting WAV ...

Re: Best way to save LP Records
I want to back up a bit. Is your intention to archive all your work and then throw out the vinyl? There are some very serious considerations to doing that. Start with never do production of any sort in MP3. Instead use WAV (Microsoft). MP3 creates sound damage when it works and it makes any producti...

Re: Recording levels
finally got a small snippet to pass ACX Probably not. ACX also has a failure they call "overprocessing." When you submit to ACX AudioBook, it goes first to what I call The Robot which does about the same thing our testing program does. If you pass basic competency, it then goes to actual ...

Re: USB Mixer Issue
What are you recording? Guitar? Live voice? What kind of microphone? You're leaving out important info.
