Re: Automatically Splitting Tracks
http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/tutorial_copying_tapes_lps_or_minidiscs_to_cd.html Scroll down to the portions that interest you. Audacity has "labels" and you can place a label at the beginning of each tune on the timeline. Audacity can Export Multiple a separate sound file for each ...

Re: Can't remove vocals!!!
Audacity > Effect > Vocal Removal. I think Audacity 2.1.2 has a slightly different one with a similar name. That's how I got that clip. If you downloaded the song Mono instead of Stereo, you're right. The tools don't do anything. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/vocal_reduction_and_isolation.htm...

Re: Can't remove vocals!!!
Lauren's music is heavily produced with stereo echo. Stereo Echo/Reverb will not cancel using normal vocal removal (attach). The voice goes away, but not the echo.

Re: Removing background noise
Hissy words over a quiet field is what happens with on-the-fly noise reduction. Cellphone territory. They sample your work in real time and try to decide what's noise and what's your voice. Generally, sounds that stay around for a long time are noise, so the system generates its own profile and slow...

Re: Removing background noise
If I should go lower, what is a good rate? See, that's not easy, either. How do we tell you to reduce the quality of your work, particularly since the sound quality seems to be working for you. (I don't think you'll actually be able to hear the difference. Audacity default "lower" standar...

Re: Removing background noise
Yours is hard because you're doing most of it exactly correct. I gotta read through that again. I may cut your posting into chapters so it's a little easier to read.... Is there any reason you're using super high sample rate and bit depth? I don't think they record Adele that high. On first reading,...

Re: Boomy sound in recording
Now you get to answer all the questions we've been asking. No fair cherry-picking. Are you one of the performers? The original didn't sound like that and I play back on windows media player.

Re: Protecting a Track
The poster imagines track-by-track freezing being handy for complex editing, but I disagree. I see someone using it once and forgetting what they did. Making it obvious what happened is a re-write of the display system.
