Another note. Nowhere in here should you be using SoundFlower. That's only for self-recording or capturing YouTube or web sound.

Re: Can not get signal on audacity
Also note because of this restriction, you can't have headphones and record at the same time.
The 15" had both which is why I bought it.

Re: Can not get signal on audacity
The 2012 MacBook Pro 13" had one connection you had to reverse in Mac System Preferences. Apple (upper left) > System Preferences > Sound. My 15" starts dividing up the world into Input and Output menus, but I don't think you have that option. You get to pick one. Once you select Input/Rec...

Re: Compare Tracks
File > Import > Audio one and then File > Import > Audio the other. They should appear one over the other and play at the same time. Use the SOLO and MUTE buttons to change which one you hear.

The sound system in Lori (my lorry) sounds much better than the stock system in pickup trucks. It took me a while to catch on what I had. I have the usual tiny speakers in the dash plus a separate amplifier and huge speakers in the rear side panels. It sounds terrific—but it doesn't appear in any of...

Re: First demo. Using audacity to mix.
And to resort to right-brain impressions: So this is the extended club mix, 7 minutes? Most songs hover around 2, 3, and 4 minutes. There used to be a "law" (no such thing) that the radio mix couldn't go over 3 minutes and several stations had music formats which depended on that. The famo...

Re: Removing Repetitive Click from Audio file
short pause and click Short answer is no. The click noise is pretty deadly. You have to not only close up the "hole," but find and repair the click noise. Do the chapter breaks occur in the middle of words and sentences? I hope not. That's very bad practice and very hard to fix, even manu...

Headphones for the two people is a grand idea. Most people don't think of that. It can be a little off-putting if you're not used to hearing your own voice come back.
