Audacity > Preferences > Recording: Audio To Buffer [100]. Try reducing that value, or increase it and see if the problem gets worse. Also Turn WiFi off (Upper Right Finder menu bar). Right-click or CTRL-click over Audacity.app > Get Info... then check (tick) the box "Prevent App Nap". If ...

Audacity opened and didn't complain, but the show display was a straight, flat line? Or it's a wavy blue line and you just can't hear it? This is a typical Audacity Project: http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic_DATA.jpg You can put them almost anywhere, but they have to be together....

Re: How to add silence to multiple mp3 files ?

Re: odd glitch
If you're in 2.0.6, then you should have a WINDOW menu option. Zoom the Audacity window out full and then zoom it back. All of Audacity should then become visible.
Let us know if that doesn't work. There's a more serious solution.

Re: Can not get signal on audacity
Do you remember where you got the idea you needed SoundFlower to record your mixer? Did you see that in the Audacity manual? Are you following a YouTube posting? Audacity doesn't post YouTube instructions because they're really rough to get right and keep up. Because of that, many of them are wrong....
