Re: Importing mov files take a very long time
Nice video. I guess the only thing we haven't looked at yet is the hard drive. Go > Computer. Right-click or Control-click the main drive > Get Info. This is what mine looks like (attached). It's not very large, but it is an SSD, not spinning metal. The backups, movies, videos, etc are all on extern...

Re: Importing mov files take a very long time
Somebody else will have to jump in. I think Audacity 2.1.0, 2.1.1 and 2.1.2 all used the same FFMpeg. Scroll down from here.

Re: Retrieving an older version of a file
Connect your backup drive, launch Time Machine (clock icon in the top menu bar) and roll the Mac back to a time when the file was still alive. Without that, we need to find out a little more about the show. I can't follow "save data from a deleted audio file." What's the show? Is it a live...

Re: New Olympus audio recorder but has a problem
Amazon is the Purchase Manager. Who did you really buy it from? It should say somewhere on your sales contract. Olympus supplied by Western Music, Inc. Maybe not, but that's how it's been working. It's not obvious how to turn the lights off. Mine is a WS-823 which is both entertainment recording and...

Re: Sample Rate Question
In fuzzy generalities, the higher sample rate, the higher pitch sound can be. In both cases, it's beyond audibility. 44100 is the sample rate used on Audio CDs. 48000 is the sample rate used in video. Bottom line: Nobody is Going to Know. Given there's a very tiny conversion error, I'd probably stic...

Re: Track selection from single source during recording?
That's manually editing, but it does avoid recording the show a million times.replace one performer in each track with silence.
When you select each voice, silence the selection with Control-L or Command-L. Don't just delete it. Deleting will throw off the timing of the show.

Re: How do you cut a portion of track out in Mac
That's where I would be looking. Can't you adjust the volume of the background track in the video editor? If so, wouldn't that be better than trying to guess what level your want your exported track to be?
