Re: split large audio file into 2
How large? 13 hours? Which Audacity and Which Windows, the exact numbers? Stereo show? Place a label at the half-way point. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/label_tracks.html Drag-select to the left. File > Exported Selected. Repeat with the right. Poof. Two sound files with the dividing point w...

Re: Problems with the new Noise Reduction replacing Noise Re
You people are celebrities. I was never able to get Noise Removal to do anything useful save once. That one time was when I, seemingly by accident, struck a removal value the thickness of a coating of paint up from dead zero. That's it. One time. I couldn't repeat the event. That one time ruined my ...

Re: Audio Finishing for Best, Most Even Sound
I like the first one. I don't think it's tinny at all. I think it's more mellow and easy on the ears. Are you sure you didn't get those labels backwards? The second one has a stiffer and harder sound in my opinion. You already know one straightforward way to improve the quality of the work is elimin...

Re: Help with Nyquist filters
I'm trying to do an additive synthesis thing by stacking various harmonics, and inharmonics, on a base tone, while controlling those harmonics with various pitch and amp envelopes, to produce interesting, evolving timbres. Oh, cool. Like a Moog Synthesizer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moog_synthe...

Re: Audio quality in clip
The simplest way is with the tone control tools. Import the show to the timeline. Effect > Bass and Treble... They work like the tone controls on your music system. That should help (I don't know if they work in real time. It's kind of a challenge if they don't). Audacity is a full production progra...

Re: how to make your voice as calming and soothing
That's acting or performing, not a filter or effect. It's a cousin to "make me sound like an announcer." In most cases, that's a person acting like an announcer.

Download one of the two Windows versions from here: http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ ...and launch it (or decompress and launch it). The Windows version has an installer and should guide you through the install process. It is intended that you do a straight, simple install and the new A...
