You have to be very clear where you get stuck so we can tailor the instructions. "I'm overwhelmed" doesn't tell us enough. We go for general overviews unless somebody stops us.

Re: Backup to Pamela
Each location providing backup local voice recording is highly recommended. I did it a crazy way. I used two computers and a mixer. Provision each computer for stereo record and play (a Behringer UCA202 will do it for Windows. My two Macs have it built-in). One computer handles "simple" Sk...

Re: Echo on playback, nothing seems to get rid of it.
That mixer will connect directly to your computer with a USB cable. Why are you using an audio to USB adapter? It's the wrong adapter. The three-pin connection "Main Out" on the back of the Behringer is high level or volume, not microphone level. The adapter is expecting microphone level. ...

Do you get the gray selection indication over half the blue waves when you drag-select? You will always get the whole two hours no matter what you drag-select if you File > Export Audio. You need to File > Export Selected Audio. After you get the two one-hour segments exported, close Audacity. Open ...

Re: Audio Finishing for Best, Most Even Sound
These settings and adjustments are general recommendations, comments and observations, not laws. If you find different values or settings work, then go for it. For example, I can tell you exactly where to set the knobs and dials on a sound mixer to start out. No one is expecting them to stay there o...

Blue Yeti USB microphone set in cardiod mode. Then the settings may be pretty much take care of them selves. Turn everything all the way up. Yetis run low volume, so it's difficult to overload either the microphone or the sound channel. I'm betting if you crank everything all the way up, you still ...

Re: Extracting frequency ranges without causing amplificatio
You can't do it that way. You have to pick the filters carefully so they cross each other at the -6dB points, not right on the frequency. If you don't do that, the crossover points will be 6dB too loud , which is pretty much what you have now.

Re: Audio Finishing for Best, Most Even Sound
I would love to have a situation with less fan noise There are things you can do with what you got. Put the computer on several layers of carpet, towel or blanket to keep it from coupling noise into the floor. Wave your head around the computer and see where the most noise is coming from. Mine come...

Are you guaranteed the show is going down the USB lines? Windows control panels have little bounding light sound meters. Are they getting the show?
