You can do well with advanced technology, too. I made up a meeting room recording system with good microphones and very high quality stereo and you could listen to the recordings on headphones and clearly hear and understand several people talking at once.

Re: Making voices audible
How did you make that recording? I can do much better than that using fairly simple equipment. I have not tried my phone, though. I guess that's everybody's immediate, knee-jerk reaction.

Re: Making voices audible
some parts are so close! They're actually not. That's your head "making it up" out of trash. "I can almost hear the winter wind in the trees whispering to me.....'call your mum when you get home....'" The problem with that is three different people hear three different things. &...

Re: Blue Snowball USB Microphone is Automatically Adjusted W
Windows has an automatic voice system called Enhanced Services. It will try to "clean" your voice and adjust it for good volume, intelligibility and low noise. It hates music.

Re: Suggestion: Morse code generator for audacity i'll plat
Have you thought about contacting amateur radio organizations? As far as I know, you still need at least five word per minute proficiency in Morse code to get a Ham license (I barely made my license). Morse is still officially supported as Disaster Prep. You can get a message out of a stressed locat...

Re: Audacity Suddenly Stopped Recording
You have conflicting symptoms. Audacity didn't start registering Generators and Effects until 2.1.1 or 2.1.2. Audacity 2.1.0 doesn't do that. At least the version from us doesn't do that. I'm not sure where to go with this.

Re: Total Newb question - splitting stereo to two mono
They're both correct. Split Stereo leaves the Left and Right assignment to each side of the split. Use that when you want to make changes to one side or the other but you're eventually going to smash them back together. Split Stereo to Mono is more serious. That creates two completely independent Mo...

Re: Fixing Uneven Channels Without Adding Noise
You don't actually have two channels. You have one channel and a mistake. Make a protection copy of the work. I'm going to suggest permanent changes. Split the performance into Mono. Drop-down Menu on the left > Split Stereo to Mono. [x] Delete the bad track. Duplicate what's left Control-D. Drop-do...
