Re: Exxporting My Saved Audacity Project Selection

That illustration was of a single, simple sound track. If yours is more complex with tracks stacked vertically, etc, then it's going to be a little harder.

Re: Exxporting My Saved Audacity Project Selection

It is a little magic. If you want a Project of only 24 seconds, you can drag-select everything else, everything over 24 seconds and Delete (Attach 1). Then Save Project. Scroll the graphic to see the whole thing. If you want to Export just 24 seconds, drag-select the desired 24 seconds and Export Se...

Re: please help check noisy audio lecture

You're stuck.

People still do this for a reason.

Very few people get good recordings from the back of the hall. There are no good echo and reverb tools.

Re: Alignment issues

The next version fixes a bug where white space in tracks could cause the files exported with Export Selection or Export Multiple to be too long.
Too long, but white space before and during each track is preserved?

That was probably your built-in microphone.

How were you planning on recording your voice without the cars, buses, dogs, etc?

Re: Recording with: Macbook, RCA cable to stereo, 2 Cd ays,

Why do you have an Aggregate Device? Those are not normal. You or somebody had to build one in Go > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup. The only time I've ever used one is to aggregate—jam together two different USB microphones. Normal machines will only record from one device. What you have is particular...

Re: Exxporting My Saved Audacity Project Selection

What version is your Audacity? Audacity will try to export The Whole World unless you select something and Export Selected. The only way to get straight, plain Export to be the desired 24 seconds is for there to be nothing else at all on the timeline except that 24 seconds. A Project will contain al...

Re: basic question with Audacity capability with movie vid

I'm not saying movie effects aren't loud. There's a saying, "When your movie is in trouble, blow something up." I've taken that to heart. The reason I bring up Dolby is the design center of being able, given a good sound system, to directly recreate a jet taking off, a thermo-chemical expl...

Re: Recording App Audio & Being Able To Talk Over It Clearly

Sometimes you can do that by accident. Windows machines don't normally create multiple different sound pathways and Audacity doesn't, either. It's the main reason Audacity doesn't get along with Skype and Games. If the job lends itself to two-pass recording, that's the way. Record the computer parts...
