I've connected Line Out of the deck to Line In of my PC. Let's back up to that. Do you have an actual blue, stereo, Line-In on your PC? It's kind of an odd duck on many newer PCs, and if you try to adapt any other kind of connection, you could get very oddly damaged recordings—such as partial cance...

Re: Real-time input/feedback metadata streams
Audacity has a Label Track that you can add to the show. It can point to a place on the show and will open so you can add text messages. You can add as many labels as you want. They can work in real time during recording and I think they'll do that on playback, too. http://manual.audacityteam.org/ma...

Sound damage can get worse if you try to convert an MP3 to anything else, and even the original MP3s can sound funny if you build them i...

Re: Win 8.1: Audacity crashes on Export As dialog
OK, now that it's too late. Part-way down the Windows install, it will ask you if you wish to reset all preferences and settings. You should say yes. If you don't, all your old configurations and settings, including possibly damaged ones will just slide forward into the fresh Audacity.

Re: I'm lost... syncing audio..
You can do what you want. MP3 is very common for up and downloads. They're tiny and convenient and make for fast transmission. That's not "production." Production is when you go to the trouble to record your voice in high quality with the idea you're going to combine it with live music for...

It has local headphones and has been certified for Overdubbing/Sound-On-Sound. I have two. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyU...
