First pass reaction without any analysis at all, you're recording your laptop built-in microphone and not the UCA 202.

The recording device in the Audacity device toolbar should say USB Audio Codec (attached).

Connect the UCA-202 and then start Audacity, not the other way around.

Audacity won't show any tracks until you either make some or open existing tracks.

Press Record and Audacity will start creating a new track using whatever you have selected in the Device Toolbar. Or Generate.

What kind of computer, which operating system, which numbered version of Audacity? You can't see it, but I have the puzzled cocker spaniel look. Waveform dB allows you to view all the loudness values available (96dB??), but in my opinion, it's a little awkward to edit because of Too Much Information...
