Re: Has anyone used LANDR to master your ACX sumissions
I have two books in production, they are my first projects. That may be awkward. There is one condition you may run into. Many people read through their first book, go back to the beginning and read it all again. The experience, smoothness, competence, and quality go way up through the course of yo...

Re: Has anyone used LANDR to master your ACX sumissions
Your implication is wrong and offensive. And warranted given at first pass, the product doesn't appear to have anything to do with AudioBook Mastering. We have a sensitive trigger for people advocating paid services on the forum, and that is a paid service. That and you haven't succeeded yet. Note ...

Re: Audcacity 101
Describe your world in a little more detail. Which song and where is it coming from? Can you hear it? Is the track there but the blue waves aren't wavy, like all you have is a straight line?
Is there no track there at all and you don't hear anything (attached, click on it or scroll down)?

Re: De-Pixelate Audio File
If I needed to record both sides of a phone call, I use an actual telephone and a special microphone connected to a stand-alone recorder or Audacity. That's an Olympus TP-7 with an adapter, or the TP-8 which doesn't need one. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/olympus_TP7.jpg http://kozco.com/tech/a...

Re: De-Pixelate Audio File
You should plan on no.
People try to use the Personal Recorder to record both sides of a cellphone call. It doesn't. It only records your voice and the far side is generally trash.
Audacity has no surveillance or recovery tools.

Re: Has anyone used LANDR to master your ACX sumissions
I see what they're doing. They are a paid music mastering service. Not once in the documents I saw do they mention Noise Reduction, ACX, AudioBooks or Spoke Word recording.
That's who you work for, right?

Re: Has anyone used LANDR to master your ACX sumissions
meters in at -57db, so noise floor is OK. ACX Noise Floor is -60 and it can be a serious juggling act to get all three to hit at the same time. It can be really painful if your background noise isn't plain pink noise FFFFFFFFFF. Are you using ACX-Check, the Audacity audiobook verification tool? htt...
Re: RMS
Once you get readings, we can recommend new settings. It's possible to go nuts. Fix RMS and that throws the peaks off. Fix the peaks and the noise gets worse.....

Re: Newbie to the Board & to Audacity - Laptop has no line i
Line-Out or AUX Out are not always safe bets, either. My sister has an entertainment center whose AUX connection is designed low volume to force you to use one of their proprietary products. I used her headphone socket, but try those first. Some devices have a Tape Out (you may have to zoom your bro...

Re: Removing echo and enhancing audio
Still, echo cancellation happens by processing the difference between left and right. Both the Meteor and the built-in microphone would have recorded as mono with no difference between left and right. No, I don't believe the built-in microphone ended up on the left and the Meteor on the right. You w...
