Re: The absolute best way to record guitar...

If the whine is low enough, you might be able to just use that published filter and we're done. Do try it. Yell if you need more detailed hand-holding.

"Hello, B&H Photo-Video?
I'd like to buy a Cursed Yeti."

Did that sound test work OK?

Re: Has anyone used LANDR to master your ACX sumissions

I am all 3 So that takes care of some of the mastering steps. You are unlikely to wander in volume or change character or voice quality (unless the story calls for it). If you feel like it, you can apply their frequency filtering steps. Steve wrote a vocal "rumble" filter that takes out m...

Re: Turn off opening banner?

Is MalwareBytes "helping" you run Audacity?

There's a Windows virus program that eats Audacity audio files.

You do have lots of free space on the hard drive, right?

Re: The absolute best way to record guitar...

I left a note for Flynwill.

"Curse" is not too strong a word for this problem. There are a number of non-soldering iron solutions, but they all change the problem or gently reduce it (or both) without making it go away.

Re: The absolute best way to record guitar...

Did the custom Nyquist filter work? If it does, then it's 100% ratty USB. I'll warn fynwill. The USB cable has wires inside that contain the data slamming back and forth. It also has wires that provide 5 volts DC. This voltage is what runs your mouse or keyboard or whatever else you plug in. It's th...

Re: What does ACX accept as final submission file type - The

if you doubt what I am saying in this post. I doubt it. What it actually says is: be a 192kbps or higher MP3 They also have a specification for maximum file size, so that limits your ability to post very long chapters at super-high MP3 bitrates. Can you point to someone specifically that said ACX w...

Re: Turn off opening banner?

The How To Get Help banner is a preference setting.

Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Interface > [_] How To Get Help (de-select)

If it's not the How to Get Help banner, you may have a non-supported version of Audacity.

Re: The absolute best way to record guitar...

This is the correction suite for suppressing the Yeti Curse in post production. It's raw code and you have to use the Audacity Nyquist tools to run it. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=304941#p304941 It could still not work. The Yeti Curse is only the most common noise. To bring this ho...

Re: The absolute best way to record guitar...

The Yeti doesn't do this with every computer. And it's not only the Yeti. That just happens to be a popular microphone with this problem. It's an interaction problem. Flynwill (an actual Engineer) cured it...by redesigning the device. This doesn't help people not handy with a soldering iron and scre...
