Re: Cant record audio using headphone

Recording music playing on the computer is a bit of a trick. https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html I don't think Windows has any provision for mixing two different sound streams, so I suspect you might be able to record your microphone, or your musi...

Re: How do I record audio for internal and mic without listening to my own mic?

There is a Google hit called "Is Discord Better than Zoom?" Discord seems to be missing the Zoom service of recording the on-line voices. Getting Discord to record the meeting or server is the official recommendation. If the Discord doesn't offer that, then there will probably always be so...

Re: audacity automatically adjusts recording volume level

There is a desperation method to getting full size waves. Record in stereo (two blue waves). The bottom wave will be flat and the top wave will be full size. Use the drop-down menu on the left and Split Stereo To Mono . [X] Delete the flat track. You can also simply record with 0.5 as your recording...

Re: transcribe piano play into

if audacity could listen to music and transcribe it to notes This is a cousin to the request that Audacity "convert" music into MIDI. It would, but it's not likely to happen because it's insanely hard for any software to "listen" to music and tell accurately what the notes are. ...

Re: audacity automatically adjusts recording volume level

Audacity doesn't apply effects, filters or corrections on recording. It's possible, depending on the microphone and connection, to change the recording volume, manually. To track this back we need to know about the microphone and how you have it connected. It's possible if you have a stereo interfac...

Re: How do I record audio for internal and mic without listening to my own mic?

I think maybe you danced around this problem a little. audio for internal and mic You want to record on-line sound and your microphone? That's the problem. To record on-line sound, your machine has to record bi-directional audio—both playback and record at the same time. That means your microphone i...

Re: Tinny audio w/switch to newer laptop/newer Audacity

Could be you're not recording from the mixer. Do you know where the new machine's microphone is? Scratch that and the performance microphone.

Is the mixer connected with USB?

Re: Problems with Audacity and interface

Did you open up Audacity after you plugged in the Steinberg? Audacity searches for new devices when it opens. If the device isn't already there and settled, Audacity won't see it.

If you had Audacity open first, you can Transport > Rescan.

That help?

I'm all for #3. Trying to compare two sounds when the references and standards are constantly moving is a challenge.

I think you're good to go just like that. Voice quality is good and the test adjusts to perfect ACX standards with no other work.
