Re: Win 10, Audacity 2.1.2 - Problem with audio file from Zo
A few more words. You recorded the meeting on a stand-alone Zoom recorder. Then, later in the day, you transferred the sound file to a computer and that's where the distortion is coming from? It's a common mistake to use a Zoom as a USB microphone. If that's what you did and the computer didn't work...

Re: DJM 700, Audacity, and dell laptop
Oh, and yes. If you want to record from the laptop, that's the other two connections on the UCA-202. That's a little more of a juggling act, but that's how I did my podcast test. Music from the computer, voice on the mixer and recording in Audacity.

Re: DJM 700, Audacity, and dell laptop
Also the Dell laptop does not have separate Mic and Headphone plugs, they are together. Right. So the laptop has a headset connection suitable for both microphone and headphones in one. It's the one plug version of this. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PCHeadset.jpg That can be easily adapte...

Re: RMS 35, SOS!
Attach 1: That's as loud as your raw performance can get before sound damage. See that thin red vertical line about 5-3/4? That's where the digital system runs out of steam (technical term). Attach 2: This is post processing, and yes, it passes ACX and I think even sounds reasonable considering ever...

Re: RMS 35, SOS!
I got the WAV file. Attached. See those dramatic up and down spikes at over five minutes? That's "How could he?" "Why!?!" You got expressive and theatrical on those words and the blue waves went nuts. That's what's throwing off the sound processing. This is fixable (Attach 2), bu...

Re: Recording Youtube and mic audio
In the Audacity Device Toolbar, search for the Mixer's USB identity instead of the Behringer (USB Audio CODEC). I have zero idea what the words will say. They're not standard. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/device_toolbar.html If you're totally flummoxed, disconnect the mixer, restart Audacity a...

Re: can't reopen a saved project
A project is an AUP Project Manager and a _DATA folder with all the sound snippets in it, both with the same name. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic_DATA.jpg Forget Audacity for a minute. If you can find the AUP file, double click on it. It should open itself in Audacity. If it f...

Re: RMS 35, SOS!
Maybe I'm running the filters wrong I hope so. By that I mean that's easily fixed. If I have a shot at the whole chapter, that will eliminate a lot of the "Black Box" aspect of this process. Why does the 18 second sample apparently not match at all the whole chapter? I know you can make a...

Re: recordings from spotify
Audacity will not save a sound file. It saves Projects. A Project is an AUP project manager file and _DATA folder with audio data in it, both with the same name. If you want a sound file, open the Project and Export one. Audacity will easily make a WAV (Microsoft) sound file by Export, but if you ne...

If you have a 1202USB, you won't need the extra USB adapter.
