Re: Very loud buzzing/squeaking sound
I'm not sure where to go with this. Yes, there is some very low volume 50Hz power hum in there (and 100 as well), and I can hear some very low volume data noises, but all of those sounds are lower volume than the normal microphone hiss ffffffffffff. Your voice is not permanently damaged because of l...

Re: The time line does not move/no recording.
The Tascam isn't sending any data? Can you record from anything else like a built-in microphone? If you can, then there's something wrong with the Tascam.

Re: Consider a project of only unmodified tracks to be "clea
I don't much like it either, but it has nothing to do with dirty or clean. Audacity is not a "wave editor." It's a Project editor and no matter how many sound files you Export, Audacity considers you not having "saved your work" properly until a Project is created.

Re: Very loud buzzing/squeaking sound
a number of people and they hear it very clearly and they confirm its a quite loud buzzing noise Then we're even. Forum elves agree with me that there is a very, very thin background sound other than the gentle rushing (ocean surf, rain) sound probably made by the microphone. No buzz. the backgound...

Re: Recording Chopped
If you open the project and it's 13 minutes and Audacity doesn't volunteer to rescue, fix or correct anything, then it's very probably history. I recorded a phone interview I did for my blog using my computer's internal microphone. I know how to do that with a corporate IP telephone system, but I'm ...

Re: Very loud buzzing/squeaking sound
The noise in the posted clip doesn't rise to disaster level and I'm betting it's perfectly normal. I think this is where we find it's a playback problem. The other more remote possibility is the microphone is misadjusted or broken and the performance is the same very low volume as the tiny noise. Th...

Re: Can't open my project
An Audacity project has an AUP file and a _DATA folder of the same name. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic_DATA.jpg They have to be in the same location, directory or folder for the show to open. Close Audacity. Find the AUP file and double click it. The show should open in Audac...

Re: can't export any aup files
Did you actually install Audacity? It's possible to run Audacity from the .DMG file (which you get from the ZIP), but it will be missing a lot of the services where it has to go out and look at the rest of the Mac...like saving and exporting. Double click the .DMG file and it will launch a Mac insta...

Re: Very loud buzzing/squeaking sound
I think this is a good time for a voice test. Noise in isolation doesn't tell us anything.

Re: Very loud buzzing/squeaking sound
Correct, but they're very low level you could go a long time before you even notice them. Neither of those is the loud buzzing noise in the complaint.there's a ~5kHz tone on the left channel and a ~15kHz [harmonic] on the right ...
