This is fascinating. I join thousands of Audacity users who never got Noise Removal to do anything useful, but a tiny group of users including a forum elf think it was a gift from the angels.
I wasn't aware there was a rescue product.

Re: Recover Audio From raw data
Which numbered Audacity are you using? Audacity has a mode where it doesn't make a personal copy of the show, but instead goes out to the sound file only when it needs to. It's efficient but brittle. If anything happens to that one file....... What do you mean the raw data is saved? Only the most mo...

Re: Project can not be retrieved
Edit > UNDO didn't work? Audacity keeps complete show copies in cache just to make the UNDO thing work. If you close Audacity anywhere in the process Audacity will clear the cache, and Audacity Projects do not save UNDO. I don't know how valuable this will be since you didn't crash. http://manual.au...

Re: Recording online audio in El Capitan
I found it valuable to have speakers with volume controls, or a sound system with volume controls. That takes care of two different processes (you and soundflower) trying to use one sound channel with different volumes. The other complaint, a sister to yours is the speakers are much too loud when I ...

Re: Recording Chopped
That's it. In general, I like the result of this effort. Oh, right. It's Sunday, time to back up and charge the MBA. I'm not a heavy field user and I shut down WiFi and BlueTooth when not in use. That goes a very long way to preserve battery life. The machine tries to maintain contact with a viable ...

Re: Problem with piano sound
It's not unusual for sound equipment on Win10 to require updated software and drivers.

Re: Retrieve file after crash is silence
That's not good news. My hour show opens and plays in 12 second segments. Control-Click one of the AU files > Open With > Audacity 2.0.4. Are you running out of drive space? If you've been doing production on this machine since it was new, that could be years. Go > Utilities > Disk Utilities. Select...

Re: Recording Chopped
Can you post the damaged show somewhere? You can only get about 2MB on the forum. Sometimes we can inspect the damage and get more information.

Re: Retrieve file after crash is silence
Quicktime doesn't know what an Audacity snippet is. You have to open in Audacity.
That's why if you had many multiple weeks, you could put the show back together without software help. Nobody wants to do that. Even with the software help, a stereo show Left and Right could get scrambled.
