Re: Low quality mobile phone calls

There's a reason "sounds like a cellphone" is a common description of sound distortion. Cellphone transmissions are highly processed for efficiency, echo cancellation, frequency distribution, and volume compression. One thing phones have done for centuries is emphasize tones in the 300Hz t...

Re: What to do with mp3 file and cue file, need to burn audi

You're spoiled rotten. Many help forums have weeks wait times.
Almost makes it unusable.
That's us. Almost Unusable.

One of the other elves may know a way to deal with this. I don't. Google time.

Re: Audacity cuts off audio

As near as I can tell from the timeline, everything is in perfect sync right up until the point one track just stops dead. What's the possibility of not using MP3? We have polished ceramic plates in our offices with the mantra: NEVER USE MP3 FOR PRODUCTION. MP3 is part of a very old compressed video...

Re: What to do with mp3 file and cue file, need to burn audi

Audacity won't burn anything. You're looking for an Audio CD Authoring and Burning program that supports cue sheets. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5208510?tstart=0 iTunes does not make any use of Cue Sheets. If you want to faithfully reproduce a CD in the future, you should store the disc as ...

Re: Audacity cuts off audio

Who's wrong? I know which one you think is wrong. Does the sound track slowly slip out of sync? Which direction? Does the show sound get to within a minute of the end and just drop dead? You're going by timers and non-content judgements. That could make a big difference. Like the track gets to the e...

Re: Top track silent after Windows 10 upgrade

Windows 10 is a very serious change. People discover older software or hardware just stops working because special Win10 versions are now required. So no, it's not a casual upgrade. If you just can't keep it running, you might look into rolling the machine back to when it did work.

Re: Shock mount for use in a restaurant

My partner tells me that I have a problem with aspirated plosives.
I'm just now catching on.
But you can't hear it?

Re: Shock mount for use in a restaurant

Go for the foam windscreen first. You may be about to experience a lesser known "Yeti Curse." everybody knows professional microphones are bright, crisp and forward, so some of the lower end microphones are made bright, crisp and forward and you can't stop them. I notice that nobody compla...

Re: Microphone boost on windows

i remember using noise removal years back Forget those years. Noise Removal doesn't exist any more. Audacity now has Noise Reduction. It's still not intended to make a studio performance out of your banana peels and fish wrap, but it's much better at current popular jobs such as reduce noise to get...

Re: Audacity cuts off audio

There are two different sample rates. 44100 is the rate for Audio CD and 48000 in general is the rate for video production. Normally, flopping back and forth is transparent, but occasionally, a program will start caring and that can cause serious sync issues. I'm a little lost what you're doing. You...
