Re: Saving Files in .DAT
Probably not. DAT is the badly consumerized version of broadcast television sound. There is a direct family connection between DAT machines and Sony DigiBeta and other high end broadcast tape machines. It's not a cool consumer format which is what most people thought when they started using it. It's...

Re: Audacity Not Seeing USB Port Source
Audacity checks for new stuff when it starts. So connect everything and make sure it's all working perfectly and then start Audacity.

Re: Removing background music from driver level
I'm just now paying attention. You want this thing to run in real time. Audacity doesn't do anything in real time save Record, Play and some Timers.

Re: Removing background music from driver level
Is it even doable? In general, no. That is the holy grail, isn't it? Start with a ratty MP3 download and remix it into your own production, splitting off all the instruments, sections and voices. The karaoke tool works by one single clever trick which tells us lead vocals usually appear in the dead...

4.3GB. The file tried to go over 4, which it can't do. The file is now unstable, irrational or crazy. That's what you have in English.
Can you split the show in two? They would fit.

I don't remember what the magic show length is, but if you never went over it before, you would never have encountered this problem.

Re: ONLY 34 MINUTES OF A 7 HOUR RECORDING IS EXPORTING. HELP
You left out some stuff. i am running the latest version Which is? have also tried exporting on an earlier version Which was? can only export 34 minutes and 57 seconds. Export as what? WAV (Microsoft)? Will Audacity let you save the show as a Project? Will it let you export the show as anything else...

Re: Correcting files processed with noise reduction
Can I do anything to remove the impact from the noise reduction? In a word, no. I'm trying really, really hard to get you to tell us if you have any of the reading before you applied any noise reduction or effects to it. Again, I think third time, we can't take effects, corrections or reduction out...
Re: Updating
Why are you updating?
Whereas you can stop anywhere in the update path, I believe the party line is to go all the way up to 2.1.2. The program and associated Lame and FFMpeg are available from here.

Re: Correcting files processed with noise reduction
You can't post a whole chapter or major segment. It will be too big. So you have to cut it down. You can read a fresh, custom clip for the forum. You can do that. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/TestClip/Record_A_Clip.html This is the generic test clip that can tell us how to process your work. Koz
