Some Audacity installs try to export sound files to the system area which Windows doesn't like very much. What happens if you try exporting to the desktop? Do you get any messages at all, or just freezes?

Re: Audacity doesn't recognise my Keyboard?
I would have put money I had this illustration in a bin somewhere. This is classic damaged blue waves from a Mic-In which has been overloaded. MinusSixdBClipping.jpg You are supposed to intentionally stop your blue waves around 50% by performing that way , not because the system is forcing you to. T...

Re: Audacity doesn't recognise my Keyboard?
As above in the thread, if you had a desktop computer with all three connections, Pink, Green and Blue, then in most cases, the Blue connection is the one you want. That one is designed for high volume stereo from an external music instrument or music player. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/s...

Re: Audacity doesn't recognise my Keyboard?
Hope this makes sense. Does this sound correct? Yes, but it may not work very well. If your computer has the usual Headphone Out and Mic-In... http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PCLaptopSound-650.jpg ...Green or Black and Pink, then there's a better than even chance your Mic-In really is a mono...

Re: Audacity doesn't recognise my Keyboard?
It's massively complicated for what you are apparently trying to do. What is the eventual goal, because I think we missed it somewhere in the dialog. You should be perfectly clear that's not a sound mixer. If you get lucky, it will present four independent sound channels to Audacity for recording (o...

Re: Noise Floor
Right. So that gives you the conditions for living different than the conditions for presenting. Many times that leads to software gymnastics required to patch noisy work and that can lead to "overprocessing" objections from ACX. It's a well-trod cycle. Ian converted a small closet into a ...

Re: Noise Floor
What the studio gives you is freedom. After hacking away at one poster who had everything in the world wrong with his system and forum chapter after forum chapter, I gently reminded him he was replacing a recording engineer and studio. Trying to force your apartment to do this is not a given althoug...

Re: iMic device
You should fill in a few more of the holes. You didn't tell us which operating system you have or which kind of computer. You should also tell us what the numbered version of Audacity you have.

Re: Skype Recording missing caller
There was one posting from someone who went into The Dreaded Windows Registry and forced the recordings to work, but that's not something I would wish on anyone and it's not clear Skype continued to work right after he did it. That's usually the problem. You can get either Audacity to work, or Skype...
