Re: Recording online audio in El Capitan
See, I don't think that's particularly correct. You can set Audacity Preferences > Recording > [X] Playthrough, and The device Toolbar for Playback to Speakers and hear the work just fine. It's just late. If you're trying for split second, real-time editing or other production, that's not going to w...

Re: Recording online audio in El Capitan
it's what allows for monitoring It facilitates monitoring. I've never used SoundFlowerBed in my life. I manually change the Mac System Settings and the Audacity Device settings each time I use it (not that often). SoundFlower appears as a device just like a Microphone or "Built-In Input" ...

Re: Allen & Heath QU32 board issues
Post two test clips. Post one with the work clean with no distortion. Post a second one with the distortion at its worst. Post WAV (Microsoft), 10 seconds stereo or 20 seconds mono. Scroll down from a forum text window > Upload Attachment > Browse. It's not open ended. You can't post hours of work. ...

Re: imac not playing audio from pyle unit
I can see this is a bit more sophisticated. Or maybe not. Audacity checks for new connections when it starts. So connect the unit and let the Mac get used to it and then start Audacity. You may still need to tell Audacity to go looking for the player with the Device Toolbar. http://manual.audacityt...

Re: Low recording level from behringer UCA222
That would make you the owner of the only known defective Behringer unit. They very rarely break. If you do get some other process to work, I bet you find something else wrong causing the Behringer to fail. Put it in the garage or the back of the closet until you get the system resolved.

Re: Incomplete downloading with File > Open
How much longer? MP3 files are misleading. Audacity doesn't edit MP3. The first thing that Audacity does is decompress the MP3 and convert it to a very high quality file format. So your tiny, convenient MP3 file turns into an enormous digital show. Do you have room for about a GB per hour or more? A...

Re: Playing a CD into Audacity
While you can probably force that to work, the music has to go through several interfaces and bit translations and possibly make you run the speakers at the wrong volume to get a good recording. Most people just use a CD ripper such as CDex. That will give you a bit-accurate digital copy of the musi...

Re: convert mp3 to ultrasonic
What's the goal?
The Audacity basic sample rate of 44100 will only support sound up to 17000 or 20000 depending on how you count, so a different sample rate is needed.
Are we generating subliminal content?
