Re: Clicking sound removal
You probably don't. Once a performance has been mixed down to a single sound file, whatever is there is burned in forever. There are some exceptions. For example if you have loud popping or clicking as from a dirty vinyl transfer, there are tools to help with that. Some of the better ones are paid s...

Re: Some Basic Editing Advice
I have a basic editing thing in shards and fragments. Like I write it more or less fresh every time somebody asks this. Wouldn't it be a terrific idea if I wrote one good version and pasted it each time with custom notes? ~~ You can edit any track you want, but sometimes it's a little magic to selec...

Re: Silent Subliminal Recording
One very serious problem with subliminal work is a complete lack of testing. In audio land we have distortion analyzers, audio meters, loudness analyzers, etc, etc. To broadcast sound, there is a list of quality tests you have to pass. Subliminal sound is completely front-loaded. Here's how to make ...

Re: Record TV with laptop microphone jack (jack/jack cable)
The $30 UCA-202 is pretty basic. That and an adapter cable and you're in. It's the cheapest way I found that still does a good job. Be careful not to fall for one of the ultra-cheap USB adapters such as the ICUSBAUDIO by Startech. https://www.startech.com/Cards-Adapters/Sound/USB-Audio/USB-20-to-Aud...

Re: Male-to-Female Voice Change
The program has to "know" what a voice is. You can't just wholesale change all the pitches of every sound. If my little sister and Don LaFontaine both said "shshshshs" to get you to be quiet, you wouldn't be able to tell who was who, but the minute they started talking, it's all ...

Re: Data folder disappeared, didn't manually rename/move
I shut the laptop, without shutting down the computer. So you put your machine to "sleep," but did you close Audacity? If not, then you put your machine to sleep with an active project "alive" in Audacity. I assume Audacity didn't offer to recover the project when it woke up? Di...

Re: Deaf in right ear - what settings could help?
In my opinion, stereo would be completely lost on you and might, in some conditions, even be harmful. I would set Audacity preferences for mono (one blue wave) and do everything in that. Mono is one of the conditions of submission to ACX AudioBook The only reason you might submit in stereo is if you...

See which one sounds best. You're not in "sound sweetening" now. You're in disaster recovery, so there are no rules.

Re: Stereo Acoustics, What is Phase (in phase, out)?
Right. Echoes are an infinite number of waves striking the microphone after the main event. The best we can do is simulate the main ones until we run out of processing power.all analog echo and such experimentation could never be reproduced satisfactorily, digitally.

Re: Exporting selected audio
Click in the end of your show, at the end of the timeline and Generate > Silence. You will get a screen where you tell it how much silence to generate.
