I have to leave for a while. I'll listen to the clip when I get back. Posting in this thread is fine.

Re: I passed ACX's QC...but the end result sounds horrible.
it's literally an empty room Our preference is a Victorian overstuffed parlor with lots of padded divans and reclining sofas and thick carpeting with heavy drapes. Ferns optional. Screen Shot 2016-07-05 at 6.34.09 AM.png So an empty room is a good start. I have a "portable studio" I made ...

Re: Audacity 2.1.2 and saving as WAV
That's it. When you type the filename, also type .wav afterward. Don't let Audacity add the file name extension.either ensure that the file name has the correct ".wav"

Re: Input option for recording dj set
Don't keep it a secret. Model numbers or names or web page references are good.I do have an audio interface though,
I have two versions of USB Audio Interface. One works in good quality stereo and one doesn't, and the instructions aren't always clear.

Re: Version 1.4
I will give you one hint to avoid a common trap. Do Not make MP3 files for transfer to a CD. Audacity internal sound and Audio CD sound are top quality and match each other. MP3 is a lower quality and makes sound distortion. Export as WAV (Microsoft) for any production work. Export MP3 only for use ...

Re: Version 1.4
The current release is 2.1.2 http://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/ That's also the page to download and install Lame and FFMpeg. You need FFMpeg if you want to manage a large variety of different sound and video files. Audacity won't do that by itself. You need Lame to make an MP3 file. Audacity...

Re: Audacity 2.1.2 and saving as WAV
I can take a shot at this. When you Export your work as the default WAV (Microsoft), it should appear as a standard, vanilla WAV sound file. If, however, you choose to Export as Other Uncompressed Files, Audacity produces a WAV file and then mis-labels it AIFF. I believe it's just a matter of changi...

Re: How do i record with my microphone.
I see from the 2i2 manual they supply a software package. I don't know what the interaction between the software drivers and Audacity is. Time for the Windows elves [backing away carefully].

Re: How do i record with my microphone.
Please note that the 2i2 is a forced stereo device. I don't think it will connect in mono (consult your instructions). So as far as I know, you can't record a mono production such as an audiobook or guitar solo directly. It's not hard to get there. Use the drop-down menu to the left and Split Stereo...

Re: How do i record with my microphone.
There may be some interaction problem with the Scarlett and Win10. We need to wait for a Windows elf for that. I think the order is important. Plug the Scarlett USB in and make sure the little green USB light comes on. Switch 48V off if it isn't already. Plug the microphone in channel 1. It should b...
