Re: Can't convert to 16 Bit PCM wav
But no, it's still 32-bit float. How do you know that? Audacity does not have Clip Info. If you're waiting for Audacity to tell you about your sound file, you may have a long wait. Media Info is available for Windows. http://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download Get the program, not the installer. Koz

Re: Sample WAV file evaluation requested
I'm curious about your reference to your friend who records in an odd way. He's the right-hand microphone in this two microphone shoot. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/JMASoundShoot-650.jpg I was commissioned to shoot the Los Angeles half of a broadcast radio program, so my microphone is on ...

Re: Stereo recording
Sure. One of the Skype recording programs does that. You on the left and your guest on the right. It's a little rough to get any more specific than that because you didn't tell us what you were doing. What are you doing? Not the end product, but where are you starting from? Audacity does not directl...

Re: Excessive drumbeat when recording LP
That's way too much work. You are producing damaged recordings. How are you recording the disks...connection details, part numbers.

and a giggle or two. It's not unusual for me to be introduced as "The one with the emails." Painting with verbs. I'm going to adjust it again with the additional details/clarification you've given me. Listen to it. A friend of mine records in a completely odd way I would not have guessed ...

Re: waveform export on win 8.1
Pretty much my thoughts when we talked about this on the forum. It would be a bug if it was so, would it not?
"That's an Awkward or Unfortunate Feature (AUF), isn't it?"
Are you sure it doesn't work that way? Jury's still out why the poster is getting an unexpected stereo show.

Re: Remove Reverb and Clicking Sound
would it be easier to identify the source of the clicking sound to remove in the damaged audio? No. We would identify what's causing the problem so they could fix their recording system and not make new damaged shows. This show may not be completely recoverable. One of the less popular Hollywood Mo...

Re: How do I replicate this sound
If either of these examples is close enough, we can give you details how to get there.
I know radio systems which sound exactly like this if they free-wheel in the absence of communication or a connection. Is that the show? Describe the production.

Re: waveform export on win 8.1
Do you really have two-track mono? Both upper and lower tracks and absolutely, completely the same? Use the zoom tools to magnify the blue waves to make sure. Zoom (Windows) -- Drag-select something on the timeline and zoom into it. Control-E -- Zoom out a little bit. Control-3 -- Zoom out full. Con...

Re: waveform export on win 8.1
None of them have the balance to either side That's not what I said. If you touched any of them, Audacity will force a stereo show in the background and not tell you, even if you put the controls back to the middle. It's one of the less fuzzy-warm features. I don't know how to tell if you trigged t...
