Re: Sample WAV file evaluation requested
really great, relaxing time at the beach! At the beach they're just annoying, but even with all that, the airport has certain advantages. It's the only portion of public beach that allows open campfires. The newer jets are efficient and relatively quiet, but some airlines are still driving the olde...

Re: waveform changed -- can't edit properly
Audacity will default to showing you the whole show left to right on the timeline. If the show is longer than about a minute, then yes, the blue waves are going to appear squished together. Most people want that. Who would want a show to appear with some of the performance missing off the left or ri...

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AT2035 You could use the field operator's techniques. Before you move it back or turn it, put a handkerchief, bandanna or other cloth over it while you listen on headphones to the quality. Change it out. Stop when enough of the crisp edge goes away. I was eatin...

Re: Sample WAV file evaluation requested
Again from up the post, there's a big difference between someone in the "Mastering" phase of their work to produce a client deliverable from a perfect studio recording, and someone doing Disaster Recovery. ACX gets a lot of disasters. I know where they're coming from. If you can't produce ...

Re: help selecting and editing music mix
The deadline is ASAP. Do you know anybody who can edit? This is not beginner editing. It could take us many days to get you proficient enough with all the tools you'll need. You're talking about studio mixing a 7 minute song to be played at the reception. I know you're going to say, "It doesn'...

Re: correcting latency of recorded tracks
Sooner and Later timing can be changed with the Time Shift Tool (two black sideways arrows). Select that tool, click in track 2 and push sideways. Track 1 is your main timing track, right? It's the one you're building everything else on top of. You should not shift track 1. You almost told us what ...

and seems condensed You may be going into and out of the zoom tools. Scroll down in this post. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/edit_toolbar.html The zoom tools spread out time so, for example, one second can take up the whole timeline left to right. Zoom in and out so you can see clearly the pla...

Re: help selecting and editing music mix
As a philosophy note, Import all your songs one after the other. They will appear one on top of the other and try to play at once. Use the Time Shift Tool (two sideways black arrows) to push the second track sideways (later), so it doesn't start until the end of the first one. Repeat with all the ot...

Re: Sample WAV file evaluation requested
Is it acceptable (to ACX) to use that? Of course not. ACX doesn't like us using any post production filters and tools. Noise Reduction and De-Esser are specifically listed in their forbidden graph. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/ACXToolsToAvoid.jpg There's a cartoon with a monkey pulling an ost...
