Re: Sample WAV file evaluation requested
OK if I use that pix? Headphones are a moving target. My favorite set is no longer available. My second favorite set is a mistake. I got the wrong replacement ear pads once and they sounded wonderful. Since the shipment was a mistake, I couldn't do it again. Hollywood standard is Sony 7506. MDR-7506...

Re: Making a Collection Track
I think that's still being too fancy. I left the top track intact. After I figured out simple deletions wasn't going to do it by way of a quick survey, I just left the track as it was. Everything from here is drag-select > Copy > Paste. After I get the new track assembled, it's pretty standard shift...

I'm bothered that nothing in that first paragraph worked right. If you're not bothered about precise crossfading
I need to go back and read through it again.

Making a Collection Track
OS-X 10.9.5 Audacity 2.1.2 I have a ten minute, spoken-word, mono piece on the timeline. I would normally have chopped it down by drag-selecting pieces I didn't want and deleting them, but this time, the valuable chunks were out of order, so I couldn't do that. The goal is to do assemble editing ont...

Re: Separate a guitar solo from song
You can drag-select the work and press the wavy line in a vice tool.
I think that has the effect of doing what you did with fewer edits.

Re: Flat MP3's
I know that MP3's strip some of the sound in compression. MP3 doesn't strip out anything you're likely to notice unless you carry compression to extremes or multiple compress. That last is relatively easy to do by accident. If someone produced the original song as an MP3 and then posted it on-line ...

am not sure what receipts are... Those are the documents that allow you to get your money back if the purchase was not satisfactory. computer does not crash when Audacity is not running. When Audacity is running, it invokes the audio playback and audio record drivers for your computer. Unless you h...

Re: Computer crashes if headset is unplugged
my brand new windows 10 computer crashes. Windows goes blue-screen and restarts? Did you save your receipts? Audacity doesn't have the power to affect Windows, but it's standing on interface and driver software and those can create serious problems. Windows 10 has the requirement that its software ...
