Re: Getting rid of background noise
You shouldn't go back and edit old forum postings. Nobody will see the corrections. We work forward down the message list only. ========================= You hit one of the sure-fire ways to kill an audio production (#4). Re: Small waveforms, total newbie
Samson Q2U mic. That's probably one of the most complicated microphones I've ever seen. I'm reading the instruction manual and I still don't know that I have it all down. There is good news. As far as I can tell, once you get it running, it should sound pretty good. You plugged the Samson Q2U mic in...

Re: Setting up Pyle mixer with 3 mics
What he said. This is assuming you have wired headphones. Also, do all three microphones appear on the mixer's bouncing sound meter?Do you get all 3 mics from the analog (or headphone) output?
We can get a lot more specific once we know which mixer. Also which microphones?

Re: latency issues
It makes me nervous when somebody posts like that. There's two latency effects, machine latency and recording latency. Recording latency is the one you set in Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Devices > Latency . That setting makes it so when you perform to a backing rack, the new performance and the ...

Re: Issue with Mackie input to audacity on MacBook Pro
Jack the Mackie TAPE-OUT into a Behringer UCA-202 (RCA to RCA) and plug that into one of the Mac's USB inputs. It will appear as USB Audio CODEC. Plug it in first and then start Audacity.

I'd be shocked if you couldn't do something like that in Windows Media.

Re: Creating an Audio book
Markable seems to be determined to make iTunes easier to use. It's not that bad right on its own. This is an iTunes display. iTunesDisplay.png The playlist (book) is on the left. The songs (chapters) are down the middle with notes, and time/progress is the slider bar along the top. You can push the ...

Re: Creating an Audio book
Chapter and Verse seems interesting. I read down through their description. As near as I can tell, it's for one person to arrange their work in audiobook form. It's not a transport system to create a product for other people. Further: "Chapter and Verse is freeware for personal use." I li...

Which track you want it to use as "Master." It used to do that as you were setting up the Aggregation.

Re: Creating an Audio book
I like to create and publish an Audio book in much the same way as an Authored video CD/DVD with selectable chapters annotations etc, preferably as a MP3 file. I'm having a hard time digging up a form other than CD/DVD which will do that. Apple iTunes has Playlists which are perfect, but iTunes is ...
