Re: Activate "Export Midi" in Audacity 2.1.2
Export Midi There isn't Export MIDI. MIDI is machine control, not music. MIDI has to know which instruments are playing the song and how to list them. If the music has multiple instruments you are pretty much stuck. MIDI can't split a song into individual instruments. There is no MIDI for vocals. W...

Re: Audio file suddenly sounds like I got a squeaky toy...
So to recap, at 44100, the system appears to be digitizing your voice wrong giving you the clarinet beeps. At 48000 and higher, your system can't keep up giving you gritty sound from tiny holes in the audio. Just to be clear, neither is an Audacity problem although we'll be happy to stick with you f...

Re: Sound activated recording
If your clicks are loud enough, they may trigger the gate. The balance may be harder than you think.

Re: Audio file suddenly sounds like I got a squeaky toy...
I need to find the phrase I read for the first sample One of the possible causes advanced earlier was a reaction to sibilants. Throw a bunch of those into a test. You have 20 seconds of WAV posting on the forum before it cuts you off. Announce which sampling rate. It's endlessly fascinating if ther...

And there you have the insidious nature of the problem. I was on the fourth pass listening to my recording before I heard it.I can I would've run into this before now?

Re: Problem in my home studio.
Rode NT1 and interface just for it. Which interface? as soon as I press record I get this error- You can get that error two ways. The obvious way is Audacity can't figure out how to work the microphone. As you say, that's not likely, but the other way is Audacity can't figure how to play the backin...

Re: Please help me!!
Do you have the posting where Librivox tells you their specifications? We have the one for ACX, but not Librivox. Audacity will not make a new MP3 sound file by itself. You have to add special plug-in software called "Lame." It's one of the wacky things that happens because Audacity is fre...

Re: Audio file suddenly sounds like I got a squeaky toy...
Does it still do it exactly the same way using 48000 sampling?
It's insanely valuable to be able to break it at will. I know the goal is a clean presentation, but we need tools to get there.

Re: Can Audacity do this??
You keep snapping back to having multi-channel work and no way to play it. I have an older PC soundcard that "knows" what Dolby 5.1 is and will, in fact, squirt all six channels of sound to the correct speaker amplifiers on individual sound cables. I still need to come up with six audio am...
