Re: Why won't Audacity work on my recording?
you may be missing the main point. We can only go with what you tell us aided with lists of common complaints. the sound quality of my recording is not good, and I want to improve it. Cool. We can do that. Can you describe what's wrong with it? Audacity has a rainbow of different tools to change th...

Re: laptop - Unable record and save sound/songs from web sit
That's "Recording audio playing on the computer." This is the Windows version. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html Perfectly correct. The goal is not to play to your speakers and then record it with your microphone. That does work, but it...

Re: Why won't Audacity work on my recording?
There are bogus versions of Audacity that use very minor tweeks to the version number. It's a red flag when somebody arrives with what may not be "real" software. a 25-minute poem that I copied from an old LP. Ah. At first pass I assumed you were having trouble opening a document. So you r...

I don't know that advanced supervisory controls are needed if the process works rationally at the outset—even better if it could be an invisible change to what's there. Photoshop works like this, or it did in CS3 and years before. — If you open a document and make no material changes (magnify is all...

Re: Track Alignment Problem
I think maybe, possibly you have the wrong error or tool. If you got the beginning of the clips to align but not the ends and you were expecting the ends to line up, then you may need a different tool. Somebody else recently posted with a similar problem. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?...

Audacity doesn't make that version. Is that a typo?Audacity version 21.1.2
Where did the show come from? Describe the recording.

Re: Adjusting and syncing 44100 & 48000
And a quick note, I don't think 44100 and 48000 have anything to do with it. Audio editors "know" what both of those are. Chances are much more likely the two recorders weren't expensive enough. Would you know if your 44100 recording was really running at 44101 because of manufacturing tol...

Re: Recording Voice and Audio At Once
We never found out what your mixer is. The music sounds distorted at the mixer during the show, or later when you played the show back from the Audacity capture? It's a little concerning you didn't say you had to buy at least one UCA-202. How did you connect the mixer to the computer for recording? ...

Re: 1 voice in each ear from skype recording
Yes. I assume what you have now is a stereo show with two blue waves. That's normally desirable so you can filter or correct one voice without affecting the other. Once you smash them together, you're stuck with the mix. I would Export a stereo WAV track at this point for backup. If you're obsessive...

File uploading is something of a moving target. This is The Last Word: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=72887 It's 2MB total. That works out to 10 seconds (12 officially) for 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. 20 seconds (24 officially) for mono. If you use a higher quality export (48000 r...
