Re: Missing Audio Data Block File(s)

I tried to find the text file you mentioned Close. The AUP file is text. It makes use of a little known property of computer files that under certain circumstances you're allowed to scramble file extensions. It is totally a text file that doesn't happen to end in .txt. Right-click on the AUP file >...

Re: Randomize playing of multiple file in 1 wav file

To be clear, you want to dedicate a single computer all day long to run Audacity and play music into your phone system? I know of no way to make a WAV sound file that can "know" where different cuts of music are. Even if it did, you need a computer somewhere that knows what random is. Comp...

Re: Driver compatability issues.

As a fuzzy note, Drivers and interface software have to explicitly say "Windows 10 Compliant." Just Windows Drivers doesn't do it any more. Further, they have to come from Yamaha that way, not Microsoft. Win10 is a different OS. A number of hardware devices dropped dead because of non-comp...

Re: Recording device error

Self recording is not an officially supported process, so you can't go back to Microsoft to fix this. Also because of that, there's no telling how you got there in the first place. So unless you wrote down the process, it's start over. http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_recording_computer_p...

Re: Missing Audio Data Block File(s)

Just a ray of sunshine before I have to drop out for a while. If you Did Something when you saved the project from the edit, then all your saves and backups are damaged.

Do you have the WAV (Microsoft) you Exported from the original performance? At least you don't have to do that again.

Re: Missing Audio Data Block File(s)

Windows XP. Are you running out of hard drive space? When was the last time you optimized your drive? WinXP will not do that automatically and the drive will slowly get rattier and sloppier.

Re: Missing Audio Data Block File(s)

Audacity used to default to a system where it would leave associated sound files splashed all over your machine. It doesn't do that any more. Unless you changed it, Audacity is complete in one file and one folder. So no more pointers to external files. Unless you want that. Audacity can be very fast...
