I think this is too much of a heavy Windows problem for me.
In my opinion, there's another application or program on your machine causing control problems or conflicts. We should wait for a Windows elf.

Re: Why is the Window in the Frequency Analyzer not constant
I thought by adding a 0dB audio tone into the show, the tool would default to a standard amplitude scale each time. It didn't work. Then I tried comparing two simple known audio tones to each other. It got the frequencies correct, but both the relative and absolute amplitude values seem magic. Diffe...

Does it work if you open up Audacity first and then File > Import? Did you get your Audacity 2.1.2 from here? http://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ If nothing works, you may need to install the FFMpeg add-on software package. FFMpeg will let Audacity open up many more different types of soun...

Re: JUST PLAIN TRANSFERRING CASSETTES TO MY MACBOOK
I do have the external speakers plugged into the headphone jack so I can listen while recording. That's how I do it. I get two benefits: A killer sound system and a super convenient way to set volume during a show or production. There is a hitch people run into when they record internet sound. Many...

Re: Mic not working - Need HELP
Just a note. Audacity will not Save a sound file. To get a common, stand-alone sound file, you have to File > Export. Audacity default is WAV (Microsoft) at the same high quality as an Audio CD. If you need an MP3 file, you have to add the Lame software package to Audacity. Scroll down on this page....

Re: I cant get audacity to record?
Close Audacity.
Win7 had control panel settings and little volume meters flashing up and down with the sound. Does Win8 have that and does that work?

Re: I cant get audacity to record?
Is it alive when you plug headphones into the microphone? There is a local volume control. Scratch the microphone. Do Not Blow!!! What's the possibility you have more than one program messing with your sound? Skype? Live Chat? A different recorder? Game/multi-user game? If it's a laptop, can you swi...

Re: Randomize playing of multiple file in 1 wav file
I think that's a cousin to a DVD trick we used to do. Nobody has ever gotten the intro screen of a DVD ( Play Movie, Special Features, Languages ) to smoothly loop in the five or six second cycle that most productions want. There's always a disturbance at the loop point as the laser hitches up its s...

Re: Missing Audio Data Block File(s)
Perhaps I should just get adventurous some day and play around with it. There is another poster who is hanging at the top of the forum waiting for an elf to tell him it's "safe" to replace all the errors with silence. That makes more sense now. The dialog actually says that, right? Are yo...
