Re: Opinion, please?
Why are you using the Plextone? Too Much Technology. Basic troubleshooting. Reduce the problem to simple steps and see if you can find the steps that aren't working right. So far we have computer capture that may be applying filters and effects, a cable and interface system that may be causing prob...

Re: Record from Reaper (Piano VST + Yamaha Motif hardware) through Focusrite AI
there is no option for choosing Focusrite ASIO driver. Probably because Audacity doesn't speak ASIO. ASIO is paid license software and Audacity is free. You can recompile Audacity in a way that incorporates ASIO for your use only. Or at least you used to be able to do that. Screen Shot 2021-06-13 a...

Re: ACX Requirements sound horrible
Without giving anything away, there are two pre-clearance tests you have to pass before you start reading. Can I buy the work in some form on Amazon right this second? Is it on this forbidden list (scroll down)? https://www.acx.com/help/200878270 As a fuzzy rule, you need characters, setting, and pl...

Re: ACX Requirements sound horrible
You can record a ten second voice test according to this. It's copyright me. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/TestClip/Record_A_Clip.html Don't do anything to it. Announce it, cut for duration, export it, and post it. Home recording is fraught with pitfalls. Nobody ever passes Noise, although wha...

Re: audio capture from speakers
directly from the speakers of my notebook You probably want the sound going to the speaker system and not the actual speaker feed. If you recorded the actual speaker feed, it goes up and down with your volume control. People find immediately that the only way they can get a good recording is to hav...

Re: Opinion, please?
If it's not, can you set it? Date and Time is page 78 of the manual. I'm not just making that up. If the time values are all 00 00 00 and you can't set the internal clock, that may be the end of the H2. The internal systems may be too old to hold adjustments and settings. So wherever you set the mi...

Re: Need Help Transferring DAT to .wav
Obsessive Engineer will tell you to transfer the tapes any way that works and then mess with the digital connection later. If the tapes are old enough, they may only play once.
Can you sense we don't have very high regard for DAT?

Re: Need Help Transferring DAT to .wav
As the U44 is a 4 channel interface, it may be sending the S/PDIF input to output channels 3 and 4. If that doesn't work, you may need the "DAT Transfer Configuration." Get yourself an adapter cable from the machine headphone connection to your recorder or interface. I use a Behringer UCA202. https...

Re: Opinion, please?
It is the original H2. I remember you told me awhile back that this one is the best. If it's in good shape, yes. We should also remember it could be as much as 14 years old. I see the memory chip cover is missing. Historical searches tell me the brief, original issue of this recorder had microphone...
