Re: Audio Setup Help
don't most usb mics allow you to listen to the playback while hearing your own voice? Many do now. They didn't used to. It used to be if you had a USB microphone it was USB from the mic to the computer, full stop. Many now offer "zero latency monitoring" and internal mixing. You still hav...

Re: No volume on CD burned from audio file
there was no confusion with a fresh file. Yes, but. Since we can't analyze the old work now, we have no way of knowing what caused the problem. Which means it could be just waiting for you again. If you have a damaged microphone system, you could be cranking out one damaged recording after another....

Re: Best size for recording room? And what acoustic foam to
There was a recent posting from someone who built a min-studio out of pushed-together PVC pipe. Worked well and knocked down when she was done.

Re: Best size for recording room? And what acoustic foam to
I'm leery about acoustic foam that's a "good deal" and doesn't make you gasp. It's super easy to produce packing foam in about the right shape pass them off as the real thing. Packing foam's job is to take up room and not weight anything. Acoustic foam's job is to be heavy and suck up soun...

Re: unwanted Flange or echo
I am also having problems with latency when recording guitar They're not linked. As a fuzzy rule you can't listen to yourself at the computer headphones while you're making a live performance. The headphones sound is "one computer late" because the sound had to go into the computer, turn ...

Re: No volume on CD burned from audio file
The music format on an Audio CD is 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. People get into trouble when they insist on producing a good quality show and then exporting it as MP3. Most CD Authoring and Burning applications will accept MP3 just fine, but it represents the addition of compression distortion to your sho...

Re: A good example of passing ACXCheck, but still producing
A lavalier is a special purpose microphone. It's job is to hide. Secondary jobs are good quality sound at good volume. There are classes how to get reasonable quality sound and still not be able to see the microphone. Some lavaliers have custom sound to make up for hiding, so unless you're shooting ...

Re: HOW DO I GET THE UNCOMPRESSED RECORDING BACK
COMPRESSED IT EXPORTED IT THEN SAVED IT. If you used the original filename instead of making a new file and then closed Audacity, you're stuck. Even if you saved a Project, Audacity Projects do not save UNDO. Compression is one of the effects you can't reverse. Export a WAV (Microsoft) of the origi...

Re: Audio Setup Help
I do have one other piece of this. This is a borrowed Samson G-Track microphone. It's claim to fame is the monitor point can hear both the computer playback and the real-time performance. It's used in Overdubbing where you sing three-part harmony to yourself. In his particular instance, you can hear...
