Re: Best size for recording room? And what acoustic foam to
Yes. I own one of those. I largely stopped using my Peavey PV6 analog mixer for quick sound jobs. Anything the slightest more than one microphone complicated and I need to use a real mixer—and USB adapter. The PV6 is not a USB mixer. I like that it will supply 48v Phantom Power to a microphone that ...

Re: general help for new user
They are different shows. They started out the same clip but they're not any more. Import the sound clip and cut it so as to reduce the length of the show. Import the exact same clip and it's pure and clean with no editing or cutting. The first show is going to be shorter. You can use the MUTE and S...

You also put the top tag in the wrong place. I don't think it likes leading a blank line. You can nest them. You can italicize a line of text and then bold one word in the middle in addition. This is an enormously simplified version of web page coding. I do mine by hand, so I get problems like seven...

Re: Noise Floor
do you have an opinion about bass traps Do you mean the rolloff filters you can put in the line with XLR type microphones? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/68602-REG/Shure_A15HP_A15HP_Hi_Pass_Filter.html We would use something like that if, for example, the field sound mixer didn't already ha...

Re: Effects Help - Level Volume on Track
I use Chris's Compressor on a completely uncontrolled podcast to turn it magically into the broadcast version which goes through the broadcast transmitter compressors and limiters. It's a dead ringer and it makes the podcast much easier to listen to. https://theaudacitytopodcast.com/chriss-dynamic-c...

Re: Making yourself sound like an old man
That's because it's generally done with acting. I know 21 year olds that can perform old men. You just have the wrong 21 year old.couldnt find the answer i am looking for.
I'm a male bass. I did a respectable woman once through acting and good microphone management. No filters.

Re: Noise Floor
It's not that unusual for a fresh, new poster to describe the page of different effects and filters in use to "clean up" a voice presentation. The question is generally which additional filters do we think might be good to add to the list. Hows 'bout we find out what's wrong with the origi...

A quick note on forum formatting. The forum uses formatting tags. The rule is to start a special activity and then stop it with bracketed tags. This is an actual tiny edited segment of one of your posts followed by the correction. Screen Shot 2016-09-06 at 13.05.02.png You confused the display by st...

Re: Noise Floor
To put that in perspective, 440 Hz is that oboe tone at the beginning of an orchestral presentation. Those hum tones are not hidden in the deep organ pedals any more. They're right there in the middle of the music.

Re: Noise Floor
Yes, that will suppress mains hum as its design center. But. If this was easy, anybody could do it. If mains hum showed up as straight hum, it wouldn't be a big deal. 60 Hz and certainly 50 Hz are almost inaudible. It's when they get put to work when they create problems. Here's what happens when po...
