Re: Help needed - slight ghosting on finished product
I really like the sounds and rush to the window to see what jets they are and how low they are flying - is that too geeky? http://kozco.com/pix/Cathay-Pacific.jpg You have to click it. It's too big for forum formatting. [geeky]Someone will correct me but that's a Boeing 777 notable for its grouping...

Re: Help needed - slight ghosting on finished product
You did say you didn't have LF-Rolloff. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/Documents/LF_rolloff_for_speech.xml.zip I have a copy of that on kozco.com. Download that zip file and decompress it to LF_rolloff_for_speech.xml. Install it in the Equalization tool. Adding Audacity Equalization Curves -- Se...

Re: Help needed - slight ghosting on finished product
ACX Test is for basic technical competence, full stop. From there, it goes to ACX Human Quality Control where they check for basic theatrical competence. Then they check your ability to follow instructions (put x number of silent seconds before each chapter). Scarily, we have had posters fail the la...

Re: No Data for Imported 880MB File
It does take some significant time for Audacity to export a show that size. What's the possibility you closed your machine before it was done? You can get into very serious trouble by doing that when you save a Project. Try it. Generate > Noise: 1 hr 24 min. Duplicate it with Command-D and Make Ster...

Re: No Data for Imported 880MB File
I'm stumped. I created a 1hr 24 min show and was able to export it to a sound file and then open it up again.
Is there a reason you called it an 84 min show instead of 1 hr 24 min?

Re: Record 1 channel, make 2, stereo
How do I make audacity stop making new tracks on each take? Pause the recording with the P key and then start up again with another P. Or, Stop the recording and Append Record with Shift-R. Select a mono track by clicking just above MUTE. Duplicate the track with Command-D. Using the drop-down menu...

the slider on that also increases the volume on the external speakers And there, in one sentence, is the down side of recording Stereo Mix. If your soundcard isn't particularly good, both the playback and recording distortion is burned into the show, too. I have an external music system preamp and ...

I think ideally you turn software loose and let it do the work.

Re: No Data for Imported 880MB File
If it's a WAV sound file, what's the possibility the real file should have been 2880 MB? WAV starts having troubles with files around 2GB in size. Some systems just stop counting, shear off some of the show and start up again. That usually gives you the end of the show without the beginning, but it ...
