Re: Exporting to MP3 ruins project
Nothing leaps out at me. Is the show music? Where did it come from? iTunes paid music? YouTube Captures? Ripped CDs? Live Captures at Church or Concert? Studio Recordings? As a temporary experiment: Select the existing good track by clicking just above MUTE. Tracks > Stereo Track to Mono. What happe...

Re: Playback using USB headphones severely distorted
Abandon OS-X. I only saw two reviews of people trying to use this headset on Macs and they either couldn't get it to work right, or couldn't keep it connected reliably.abandoning OS X and working with Audacity on Windows?
Run away.

Re: How to remove the crackling sound in audio (sample inclu
It does sound like you're badly overloading something. What's the mixer and what are you recording and with which microphone? Just having the distortion go up and down with the performance volume but not get better or worse could mean there's something broken at the microphone or mixer settings. The...

Re: auto monitoring on start up?
Audacity doesn't do anything in real time except maybe a timer for auto record. It's a Post Production Audio Editor.
Real time effects and processing is a Frequently Requested Feature.

This forum is a little weird because we have active helper elves over 9 time zones, so response can be minutes or hours, not days or weeks like other forums.

Re: Levels REALLY low, around -30
The forum has tools to help you with AudioBook publishing. FlynWill developed ACX-Check by managing some older tools and it mimics the first-level quality control service at ACX AudioBook. It saves you a cycle of being rejected by ACX. You can reject yourself in the comfort of your own home. It meas...

Gain set to 3 o'clock position The only time knowing the position of the gain controls is important is if they're all the way up or all the way down. All the rest of the time, the controls are determined by the bouncing sound meter or the size of the Audacity blue waves. Can you get the 2i2 green l...

Re: OS X 10.11.6 Open .aifc files with audacity
I am told that the aifc file is from an unrecognzed developer. I think it's more likely Audacity is from an Unrecognized Developer. AIFC is a compressed version of AIFF which is a native Mac file format. There's a trick to this I don't remember. Maybe another elf will drop in. I think there's a way...

Re: Newbie problem! Need help bad!
OK. You can select a track by clicking just above MUTE. The track you selected will change to a different gray. Select multiple tracks by holding Shift while you click. Select nothing by clicking in any dead part of the timeline window and all the tracks will change to non-selected gray. You can wat...
