Re: Removing breathing
There was a forum poster who was mildly asthmatic. They were painful [gasp] to listen to. They wanted to be a voice performer, but that possibility was zero. There are some pay-to-play software packages which can help, but the "pay" part can exceed the fees of just paying someone to do the...

Noise Gate Punch
Instead of removing gated noise or sound, switch to a preset sound such as room tone. And don't just switch. Use the fade-in and fade-out Punch tricks.

Re: Remove sound based on profile in other file
Sometimes this works a little better if you're on headphones. As you get close, the show will start to sound "deep" and weird. That's a sign of partial cancellation. You're close.

Re: different weird sounds while using Audacity
I uninstalled the program and reinstalled Reinstalling Audacity doesn't always reset Audacity. Audacity keeps Preferences and Settings in a separate place to make upgrading easier. There should have been a [X] somewhere that says Reset Audacity or Reset Preferences , or something like that while yo...

Re: Remove sound based on profile in other file
Sometimes it's handy to use Magnification as you get closer and closer. I use three tools out of the pile available. You may like others. Drag-select some part of the show and Zoom into it with Control+E. Zoom Out a little bit with Control+3 and Zoom out Full with Control+F. Shift+Scroll Wheel will ...

Re: Remove sound based on profile in other file
If you want to try, open the show with the bad sound in Audacity and then open the correction sound. They should arrive one under the other. You can use the SOLO and MUTE buttons to make sure you know what you have. If you don't do anything, they will both play at once. Select the correction sound a...

Re: ACX Check Question
They mean you have the wrong ACX Check. The older tester has troubles with the newer Audacity, so a newer test was developed. What do these numbers mean?

Re: Recordings disappeared after unable to save
Are you trying to use cloud storage? Audacity doesn't like that very much. If you have to, save the works on the local drive and move them later—without Audacity. What did you call the filenames? Audacity doesn't much like dates in filenames. The slashmarks can cause problems. Use ISO dates. Today i...
