Re: Question about Recording audio from an AM/FM radio only
If you have a newer laptop, it's very likely you have a microphone connection (Mic-In—generally pink) and not a stereo entertainment connection. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PCLaptopSound-650.jpg This is for the millions of users on Skype, Google-Chat or Games with headsets. The four peopl...

Re: Does Audacity?
Audacity has the little piece in the middle. He has to come up with a microphone and interface/digitizer system—and studio, if you have a bad room for echoes and reverb. If its an electronic piano, that can relieve you of all the microphone craziness. Once you get that far, you can record the work i...

See if there's anything in here.

I remember. The Windows installer will ask you if you want to retain the old settings. Say no.

Re: Audacity 2.1.2 Crashing on Windows 10
The version I used came with a strange bug, as each file it loaded was of silence (it previously worked just fine) I'd like to revisit that. What changed? You must have some idea. You're not a fluffy new user. You've been using Audacity successfully and you did the Win 10 update, by any chance? Win...

Re: applying 2 effects
Please note if you don't like the work, you have to remove the effects in the reverse order applied. There is no 1, 2, 3 and then remove 1. You have to UNDO 3, then 2, and then 1.

Re: play guitar with computer music thru scarlett 2i2
just two instruments, but one instrument is the internet. That could just as easily have been a poorly worded question about two people playing miles apart. The assumption is that you can make the miles vanish with semi-real time actions at each location. That can be done but difficult and unstable...

Re: Loud hum while recording
Noise Reduction isn't free. It's adjusted so it damages the bad sound more than the good, but it always damages both.

Re: Loud hum while recording
Are you exporting the sound file to your desktop? We have to start from somewhere, so do that. Drag-select ten seconds or make a ten second recording. Remember when you drag-select a portion of the show, you need to use File > Export Selected , not File > Export . Before you send it to the forum, Ri...

Re: play guitar with computer music thru scarlett 2i2
connect an appropriate cable from audio out of the Mac to one of the Scarlett inputs I agree, but you also have to avoid sending the guest's voice back to themselves, so somehow you have to record it as a separate mix. Putting Skype in the show can be a college-level problem. When I did it with the...
