Re: Echo when listening to the recording in Audacity.
Not sure what you mean by "don't play the work in your computer". Sometimes, the computer playback system adds special effects of its own and the only way to tell what you really have is play the work on your iPod. But that's not your problem because VLC seems to work. How long is the sho...

Re: How to keep the identical sound in a sea of other sounds
then use that sound to filter out what I don't want from the original file? You would think, right? Did you catch when you got your "clean" result at the end of flipping and cancellation, it was mono and not stereo? That's what kills you. There's no way to get back to the stereo show, and...

Re: Not Monitoring - Can't Record
What audio? Be very specific.I was able to record audio.
You reinstalled, but did you reset Audacity? Part way through the Windows install, it will ask you if you want to reset preferences and settings. Say yes.I've uninstalled/reinstalled Audacity

Re: How to make Audacity record ONLY my mic and not my speak
Audacity is recording the sound of both my mic, and the sound that's coming from my speakers You plug in your headphones and the speaker sound will go away. You should be on headphones almost any time you have a live microphone. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/wynonna2.jpg http://kozco.com/tech/auda...

Re: overdub - cant hear myself
i think i read somewhere that usb mics were not as good as the mics that have the 3.5m connection. You should probably stop reading that. You read about all the USB problems because the number of USB microphones greatly outnumbers the analog/3.5mm plug sort. There may not be anything wrong with the...

Re: Change my voice
Make my voice sound like... Is a Frequently Requested Feature. Most of the filters and effects sound like dourvas with a filter or effect. Not a different person. You could try Effect > Vocoder. You know what that is from the Geico ad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YR_Bjf-a5rs It's not particular...

Re: Echo when listening to the recording in Audacity.
How did you listen to the MP3? We assume it doesn't make any difference if you Export WAV? Is it possible it only works if you don't play the work in your computer? If you like to record internet content, you can have your sound pathways folded back on themselves. What is your playback device—what d...

Re: overdub - cant hear myself
then as soon as i hit the record button i get another window. this is the one that has the short/flatline sound wave. and yes - it does mix the two patterns when i playback. This may be just confusing and compounding errors on what's supposed to happen. Each time you press Record, Audacity should p...
