Re: quality loss when exporting to MP3 or WAV

I like the voice. I think with a little buffing up, I could listen to a story in that voice.

Re: quality loss when exporting to MP3 or WAV

I don't know that I would choose fancy file encoding, particularly if you're having trouble. Stick with absolutely plain 44100, 16-bit, Stereo (or Mono). Once you get that working, then you can get fancy. The 32-bit thing is the reason you couldn't get a longer file on the forum. 16-bit, Mono will p...

Re: quality loss when exporting to MP3 or WAV

As soon as I export and listen to the subsequent file the sound is fuzzy/echoy/clippy. Not in Los Angeles, it's not. It sounds just like you with little or no distortion. Maybe the tiniest amount of fan noise in the background. How are you listening? Can you listen on something else? I think 10 and...

Re: -Inf noise floor too low - ACX Help please

You're right. Starting at 10 seconds, the trash goes away. Boop, gone. That's not white noise. White noise and pink noise are cousins to spring rain falling on the trees. ItStartedRaining.wav You have straight rumble cause by a fan or a pump Did you ever tell us what your microphone was? Is it sitti...

Re: How to isolate/remove a sound wave

Can I use Audacity to analyse the recording, and seperate the different sound waves and extract (or at minimum, increase the sound level) to balance it with the music level? Audacity can't split apart a mixed performance into individual voices, instruments, or sounds. You may be able to produce thi...

Re: Dialogue Removal

The party line is Audacity can't split apart a mixed performance into individual voices, instruments, or sounds. Vocal Removal usually works by assuming a simple voice or announcements is in the middle of a stereo show. It's dead simple to split the stereo show into two, invert one side and add them...

Re: -Inf noise floor too low - ACX Help please

Before we get to 7 hours, lets solve this piece at a time. It's nearly 100% certain that rumble is one of your fans in the background. I made the first 2 second worse so you can hear it. No-edit-Noise.wav If it's a laptop cooling fan, that could be why it comes and goes as the computer heats up. It ...

Re: Instrumental track "stuttering" while recording on it

for the first time I used my Zoom H1 as microphone If you use it as a stand-alone recorder and transfer the sound files, it works, right? ... an MP3 that I imported wihtout a problem. Did you tell Windows to reveal filename extensions? Was the filename something-dot-mp3? There's no shortage of prob...

You can use Windows' Snipping Tool to draw a box around a part of your screen and save it as a picture file.
