Re: Need help interpreting mastering feedback from ACX
20 min mono WAV clocks in at about 105MB, so no, it's not going to fit in a 25MB email. No more Drop Box for me and apparently, nobody is offering free 1GB storage any more as a loss-leader. This is an explanation of Google Cloud: For example, a 15 GB object that exists in a Multi-Regional Storage b...

Re: Need help interpreting mastering feedback from ACX
Private Message worked perfectly. You are no longer under moderation, so your juju on the forum is greatly increased, to include sending PMs. I'm not sure how to respond. 1. I'm digging myself a technological hole here in Los Angeles. I'm a dot-com, or at least I was until the host company started u...

Re: Is there a better way to correct recorded timing?
that lets you correct timing more efficiently? Certainly. Effect > Change Pitch/Speed/Tempo. But they don't sound as good as Sliding Time Scale . That's the development conundrum. Sliding is unquestionably the superior of the tools, but it's deadly slow. If it wasn't, we would probably have replace...

Re: Need help interpreting mastering feedback from ACX
This is, without question, the worse possible time to mention that the longest forum thread (39 chapters) was produced by Ian, who 'only' wanted to read audiobooks with a Blue Snowball from his apartment in Hollywood.

Re: Need help interpreting mastering feedback from ACX
Am I reading the tea leaves correctly? [Puzzled puppy look] I'm not sure how you got to that ACX-Check reading from my brief list of tools. It should be impossible. There is a sister post to yours concerning what happens when somebody harrumphs very loudly, clears their throat several times, coughs...

Re: Need help interpreting mastering feedback from ACX
You are intended to more or less watch the meters and read at the same time. You are replacing the recording engineer, but the job didn't go away. I random announce while gazing at the meters to get an idea what it feels like, and then launch into the reading, glancing over every so often to make su...

Re: Need help interpreting mastering feedback from ACX
Isn't part of the ACX submission process to post a short chapter or some test clip or something? I think this link is still the valid requirements. http://www.acx.com/help/acx-audio-submission-requirements/201456300 If nobody posts that they hate your voice or some other error, I think you could pro...

Re: Error Message
Audacity is issued with three numbers. I'm using 2.1.2 right now. Lots of programs don't do that and people assume they can abbreviate the number when they post for help or just leave numbers off. Bad idea. Also, There are bogus versions of Audacity that have scrambled version numbers. If you are us...

Re: Nyquist Plugins not working
"studio travel kits" [Writing that down.] That is almost without question so much better than turning thousands of New Users loose in the kitchen with a Yeti (the microphone, not the mythical beast). How do you deal with a noisy room? That's by far the worst problem in new recordings. Do ...
