Re: Accidentally Deleted Everything In A Project And Saved
I posted that in case there was something in there that could be helpful. That process is for shows where the _DATA folder was OK, but the AUP project manager went missing or was damaged. That's not what you have. If you have a massive project, that's not going to work anyway. That process tries to ...

Re: Accidentally Deleted Everything In A Project And Saved
http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/recovery.html then somehow everything in the project was deleted right before I saved and closed the project to go to bed for the night. I don't understand that one. Are you guessing that's what must have happened? Did the Project look and sound OK when you saved? ...

Re: Classmate forgot to copy .aup files...
it'll help if this happens again. Or not. Many people like creating perfect quality WAV sound files and shipping those around rather than arm-wrestling with Audacity Projects. File > Export > WAV (Microsoft), 16-bit. Those have the additional advantage that they will open in almost all sound progra...

Re: Removing background noise
I honestly don't know how my audio doesn't sound any horrible that it should The sound gods may be smiling on you. That does happen. Chase used to regularly crank out a reasonable-sounding Skype podcast with no special hardware or software. He's a celebrity unicorn. Nobody else can do that. I might...

Re: Windows 10: Syncing Tracks in Audacity
Is the pitch correct? Are they both on the same key? If they are, you can use Effect > Change Tempo. Jockey one of the songs so that the beginning matches and then scroll to the end and try to figure out how far off the beat is. I believe you can calculate the percentage and put that in the Change T...

Re: scrolling screen
Hold the shift key while you wheel your mouse or scroll-swipe your trackpad. I use three zooms pretty much all the time. Zoom (Windows) -- Drag-select something on the timeline and zoom into it. Control-E -- Zoom out a little bit. Control-3 -- Zoom out full. Control-F You might find it handy to use ...

Re: Help! I can't hear what audacity is getting...
Could you mean the 1/8" socket like this.

If you have a newer machine, you may only have one hole instead of two...or three. If you do only have one, you will not be able to use it to record stereo.
Is that what you have?

Re: No sound when copied to desktop or flash drive
Sound engineering has a number of different ways to tell you are getting work whether or not you can hear it and Audacity follows that tradition. While you are recording, the bouncing sound meters and blue waves should both be active. They should look something like this. http://www.kozco.com/tech/a...

Or not.it will likely be faster to ask this board for help than wait for him to check his email.
You are in Disaster Recovery. Since your machine didn't actually crash, scroll down to manual recovery.
