Re: recorded vocals break up, sound tinny, and phased
and use hardware playthrough. Did you change any applications or tasks? I think it's still true that OS-X does not support Hardware Playthrough, so wherever you think you're getting your sound from is probably not correct. Do you hear your own voice in your headphones without an echo? I believe you...

Re: Suppress echo effect ?
We can always create "different." You can also make a change by using The Whole Show as profile and apply that. For some odd reason that sometimes works...poorly.

Re: ACX Mastering
Yes, but. That doesn't account for two of us working on the same sound file and getting different results. I need to get back home.

Re: Saved over a file...PLEASE HELP
Do not close Audacity. Keep pressing Edit > UNDO until you get back to the original file. Export that as a different name.

Re: 2.1.2 Stuck After Crash
You may have just run out of machine. Audacity makes very high quality copies of the whole show as UNDO every time you perform an edit, effect, correction or filter. It doesn't take a very big show to overwhelm an older computer. get back to work How much drivespace do you have? If Audacity crashed ...

Re: Suppress echo effect ?
Even if this is a video, you can have the voice performer listen to the original on headphones as they read the text in the studio. You should be able to record it several times and edit the sound so the lip sync lines up. That's looping. Not all Hollywood sound shoots work right the first time.

Re: Suppress echo effect ?
I think you're stuck. Audacity can't help big room echoes. This is the reason news events and interviews always go to very serious effort to get a microphone close to the performer. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/microphoneNewsCluster.jpg http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/ShotGunInterview.jpg I...

Re: Recording Volume Slider?
I use a simple volume setting before measuring ACX-Check. I set the peaks and see where the other two values settle. -- Select the whole clip or show by clicking just above MUTE. -- Effect > Normalize: [X]Remove DC, [X]Normalize to -3.5 > OK ACX max peak value is -3.0 and the half dB is to help comp...

Re: Recording Volume Slider?
Yes. I would set the recording volume with the micport pro and leave Audacity all the way up. Plug the headphones into the micport pro and use that for real-time (zero latency) monitoring. Sealed Muff Headphones are a terrific way to keep yourself at even volume during a performance similar to the w...
