Re: Recording Volume Slider?
Usta be. The older soundcards had volume problems (inheritable, apparently) and started to ship with a volume booster as an option. I swear there was a posting relatively recently where someone found a similar setting in a newer computer. until recently I kept record slider at 80% and the micport at...

Re: Need help interpreting mastering feedback from ACX
That's a good sign. This is where they pick off the pauses, room tones, extra file management, etc. and prep it for distribution. We wish they were doing this with the WAV or other uncompressed file type, but no. They're using MP3 and this is why they urge you strongly to make 192 quality or greater...

Re: Suppress echo effect ?
That's borderline witchcraft. There's no reason to believe the echoes will have different timbre, harmonics or overtones than the straight voice, just rearranged in relative volume. Nothing in the room is going to make new tones. Who makes echo suppression software? It was once suggested that Convol...

Re: Recording Volume Slider?
had the audacity at 100%. MP was barely on. And you got good Audacity levels with bouncing meter regularly up just short of overload? It is worthy of attention when controls work near or at their extremes. Having a USB microphone cranked all the way up is not news. Many microphones and preamps do t...

Re: ACX Mastering
Open the DB Chapter 1 Edited.wav file you got from the download and Analyze > ACX-Check. I got the attached panel. I know of no reason they should be different.

Re: Recording Volume Slider?
I am 73 y/o, so I am probably past my ACX days. Where'd you read that? Don LaFontaine was cranking out movie trailers at 69. "In a world where humanity had ceased to be, one man and his faithful companion stood between...." And his most famous performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...

Re: Suppress echo effect ?
It's clearer. Some of the mush is gone. Of course not being able to speak Farsi (or whatever that is) is a problem.I have no idea if anyone thinks that "better".
Did you sample a trailing echo? Is that what's in your profile? He stopped for a breath and you snagged it?

Re: Disable Record Computer Sound
Make sure Audacity is trying to record your microphone and not another system or software service. For example, if you like to record YouTube audio, many times the settings for that will record everything, not just YouTube.
