Re: How did I connect my headphones?
Left-only can mean you didn't push the headphone connector in all the way.
The first connection that establishes when you push goes to the left earpiece.
That, of course, has never happened to me.

No, and we can't take effects, filters, or corrections out, either. That's the sister question. If you didn't close Audacity between the two sessions, you might be able to Edit > UNDO and take notes. Many of the effects freeze their settings from application to application. So if you can at least re...

without taking up more disk space than I need to. There's the voice of doom. Audacity (and many other production editors) use up drive space way faster than you think. If you know you're running out, this is not the machine for editing your show. You may be one of the forum posters who want to know...

I try to do my best to make the audio as clean as possible Good thinking for two reasons: Who demands better respect and attention? Somebody in BBC voice, perfect diction, impeccable accuracy, and smooth presentation, or someone who sounds like they dashed off the class between episodes of Gilligan...

In what way does it not pass? How are you testing, and what happens? Don't leave us hanging like that. And yes, they demand constant bitrate, not variable. Variable bitrate isn't as common as the older Constant and there could be players that can't handle it. The last thing a company wants is to pr...

Re: Microhpone advice needed: Blue/Yeti vs Rode NT-USB
There is a desperation method. Record in the back of your car. Park in a quiet place and set up shop. I tell of a producer who routinely turned out good or at least workable voice tracks. I asked how he did it. He said "My Toyota."

Re: Microhpone advice needed: Blue/Yeti vs Rode NT-USB
switch from cardioid No. Cardioid (heart-shaped) or kidney-shaped is good. Omnidirectional will allow you to pick up the crickets much clearer and louder. Figure-Of-Eight will allow you to pick up only some crickets clearer and louder. This is the cardioid pick-up pattern for a rock band microphone...

That's the legacy ACX Check.
The new one doesn't have that problem.
