Re: changing voices

This made me realize how important it is to enunciate clearly and speak a bit more slowly than many do in normal conversation. There's just nothing quite like hearing yourself playing back the first time, particularly compared to an actual presenter. Voices in my head That's a whole psycho-acoustic...

Re: Self-producing an Audiobook

The visual sound waves on the track disappeared. I've been calling those the "blue waves" which is going to get me in trouble if someone decides to adopt a custom colour scheme. The techie name is "waveforms." I think you got lucky. It's not unusual for a show to fall apart when...

Re: How to record skype calls on audacity

Lest we get too excited about capturing both sides of a call, remember that in many countries, it's illegal.

"Thank you for calling Schmidlap Industries Customer Service. This call may be monitored or recorded for quality assurance purposes."

Like that? http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/ProAnnouncerStudioSoundproofing.jpg Anything that can break up the air flow between you and the microphone. This is an example of what can happen when you don't. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/clips/PPopping.mp3 Chase was perfectly OK with that and he di...

Re: Soft voice and microphone levels

into the yellow here and there when I am speaking naturally. Exactly correct. That's the sweet spot between too loud overload and too low noisy. I am doing the "hang ten" thumb to pinky distance from the mic and am aiming for the blue light inside. The blue light is new. What do the instr...

Re: Soft voice and microphone levels

I need to go back and read through that again. If you have a process that works, we generally step back slowly and leave you alone. The process is not supposed to be pulling-teeth painful. After you get the swing, you just have to pay attention. We have a new tool coming on-line that should make mee...

Re: Self-producing an Audiobook

??? I'm lost. Do you have pictures with your work? Do mean your blue waves vanished?

What happens if you File > Save when it does that? Does it let you save a Project?

Re: Soft voice and microphone levels

I'm just reading that again. Are you trying to directly read into ACX delivery format? You don't mention post production, processing or effects in the whole post. I don't think normal humans can do that, nor do I think it's required which may be why you're struggling.

Re: Can't open aup file

The one I can't open was blank. Right. That's what happens when you close up shop before Audacity is done writing all its files. The AUP file is last. As long as you didn't do any editing or changes to the second part of the show, it may be possible to recover some of it. http://manual.audacityteam...
