Re: Two problems since getting Yeti mic. Skype and playback
I did 3 fine before this issue! How? You said it was before the Yeti. There are "fake" ways to record both sides. Instead of using headphones, you listen to speakers and your local microphone is actually picking up the far side from your speakers, not the Skype data. I also expect the far...

Re: Yosemite compatibility
I don't think I've ever worried about the iTunes path. I Export WAV (Microsoft), 16-bit to the desktop. Then Control-Click (right-click if you have an appropriate mouse) > Open With > iTunes.

Re: Two problems since getting Yeti mic. Skype and playback
Nothing worked. Unless there's something magic about Linux setups, we don't expect anything to work. We recommend special-purpose software, not Audacity, to record Skype interviews. There have been podcasters who performed multiple successful Skype interviews, but they are celebrity unicorns. Most ...

Re: Can Audacity sync LTC audio tracks?
I don't think there's any provision for Audacity to sync to Time Code—or more accurately, I don't think Audacity can read it. If you can supply an external reader, you can use the Linear Time Code to figure out where you are, but there's no such thing as telling Audacity to "Go To" a parti...

Re: Recording Upstairs Neighbors
Surveillance recording isn't Audacity's thing. Room noises are very difficult to record without special purpose microphones and sound sensors. Normal home style microphones as you're finding, won't do it. Usually special recorders are required. Audacity can't record Time Of Day either in rolling tim...

Re: Pro Tools Files - Export to What File Format? Newbie!
Are you saying that converting to flac and then back again to wav might/would entail musical loss? I don't think there's any loss doing that. I don't have good touchy-feely with flac. Dropbox Good idea, but note that may people's UP internet transmission sucks compared to DOWN. I have no trouble wa...

As I think about things. You don't have to use Stereo. Mono WAV files work fine for post production.

Re: Pro Tools Files - Export to What File Format? Newbie!
Quick note. WAV is recognized on Macs, Windows and Linux. It's the Audacity default uncompressed file format. I don't think I've ever found the need to create an AIFF, and I can easily convert between that and WAV if I need to. I think AIFF has better labeling or meta-data handling than WAV. The mus...

Re: Pro Tools Files - Export to What File Format? Newbie!
Wav format is the best but the file size is large? Those were the wrong words. If you're worried about large file sizes then you will never get to versatile, top quality work. All the convenient, compressed file formats create sound damage and the one that doesn't, flac, may be a standard file form...

Re: Audacity 2.1.0 on Windows 7 Best way to lower file size?
There is another variation. You can Save Audacity Projects. Nobody else but Audacity can open and play them, but they have perfect quality and they have the ability to preserve all your tracks, cuts, and production tricks, But not UNDO. Projects do not save UNDO. Exporting a WAV is recommended anywa...
