Re: echo when recording

i used my sisters Mac and it worked fine.
It would work in my Mac, too. It has a stereo line-in.

Re: Pulsing sound in my recordings

That's serious. I got the clip to pass ACX AudioBook standards, but it took a lot of work and I can still hear the putt-putting in the background. So no, don't bother. That's not going to work. It's there during your voice, too, but it's harder to hear. Rode NT1-A Cardioid Condenser Microphone with ...

Re: Gapless Playback

What would I have to change in Windows Media Player to make it loop seamlessly as Audacity does? The program. I keep cycling over this. It's generally agreed that most players won't loop no matter what the content. The only way around this is to send a custom player app along with the song or loop....

I use direct sound.
I think the Party Line is to use the one that works.
Windows 10 was not an upgrade. Windows 10 is a new Operating System and it killed off many drivers, programs and devices.

Re: Audacity won't record

Any idea how I can hear my audio?
I do. When Windows sees an audio device, it naturally tried to record from and play to it.

Back into Windows setups and tell it where you want the playback audio to go.

Or unplug the microphone. I think once you set that the first time it should stick.

Re: Transition between recording sessions

You are so asking the wrong person. I'm not a Windows elf. In Mac-Land, it's called: [_] Use Ambient Noise Reduction. There may be a different manual posting. From Google: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2745835/windows-microphone-noise-cancelling-suppresion-working.html Tried to go to Sound>Re...

Re: dividing a vinyl recording into "songs" for Itunes

If you provided labels at the beginning of each song, then it's File > Export Selected Audio . Not Export Audio. That should pay attention to the labels and make multiple files. Any reason you're exporting the work as MP3? We recommend exporting the vinyl capture as WAV (Microsoft), 16-bit and put t...

Re: Transition between recording sessions

Everything sounds pretty good and meets ACX check And as the first sentence of that process, it's only to meet technical requirements. It doesn't address quality of the sound at all. I went back briefly over the postings and I don't see anywhere that you went into Windows settings and turned off th...

Re: Audacity won't record

I can't remember if I already responded to this or not I write little notes to myself..... You will be moderated until some number of postings goes by. One day you'll wake up and your postings will be immediate. You can get the flickering cursor when Audacity is trying to make sense of a damaged di...

Re: [Windows 10] WASAPI only works when line in is 44100

In general it's a terrific idea to have all the sample rates match.
Scarlett is set to 2 channel, 16 bit, 96000 Hz in Windows.
In Windows, or in the Scarlett Driver? Isn't there something about basic Windows services won't go over 44100?
