Re: ART USB Dual Pre digital artifact
It's possible, but I doubt the Dual Pre is doing this by itself. What's the microphone? What around you is wireless? It sounds to me like maybe your wireless Baby Monitor or House Lighting Device is "checking in." Where's your cellphone? Put that in the kitchen for a while as a test. Koz

Re: AUDIO RECORDING SIMULTANEOUSLY
we ant separate tracks even though we are playing together. What happens back at the Behringer? When one performer plays do you get one set of bouncing volume lights, or both? Are you split left and right at the Behringer headphone connection? If you're using earbuds or smaller headphones with an 1...

Re: USB microphone with low recording level
probably the same low recording level with the Rode mic level Control set at maximum. That's not a hard rule, but the phrase "USB Microphone" is generally associated with your mum recording an audiobook, not someone making a difficult, unusual, or error prone recording. And all those micr...

Re: USB microphone with low recording level
I am in the process of building a system with a remote controlled tranceiver. Surveillance system? Trying to dig voices out of the mud? You have competing requirements. I built several conference and group recording systems but I did it with a small mixer and conventional microphones. The low noise...

Re: Transition between recording sessions
Getting the microphone to work is only first of three parts. Then you have to pass Theatrical Quality which is judged by Human Quality Control at ACX followed by actual theater. We have to enjoy what you're doing.

Re: Transition between recording sessions
Slight variation on how I did it. We both found your subliminal rumble interference and saw it was part of your noise shortcoming. That's the LF-Rolloff thing. Screen Shot 2017-01-28 at 9.38.11 AM.png I applied the Custom Nyquist SetRMS and then Limiter followed by Custom LF-Rolloff. I basically did...

Re: Need guidance on removing noise
Noise Reduction is designed for steady background noises such as minor hum or microphone hiss. It doesn't do so well with sporadic noises such as popping or clicking, if for no other good reason, it's impossible to get a sample. Noise Reduction works by being exposed to a clean sample of the sound. ...

Re: USB microphone with low recording level
Most USB microphones record low. They are designed for inexperienced users. Low volume is a minor inconvenience whereas high volume produces distortion and is immediately fatal. So it's no contest. Audacity doesn't easily support ASIO, so that software doesn't do any good. As a fuzzy rule, I would s...

Re: Waveform diminishes After 1 1/2 hours of recording
The wave was trimmed because I fit 1h35m into the screen shot. No. I don't mean side to side. I got that. I mean up and down. See how all the waves neatly stop at 0.5 up and down (scale on the left)? That's broken, or at least not normal. I'm betting that sound is a little grittier and harsher than...

Re: Horrible audio and can't seem to fix it
Who put the microphones in front of the performers and pressed the Record button? We have to build your world in our imaginations so you should tell us as much as you can about how the show was made. Four people at a restaurant? Skype recording? Conference Call? Chat?
